Lim Young Woong's fee estimated at 100 million won as trot stars' market value rises
Industry estimates reveal the appearance fees for trot stars, with Lim Young Woong's fee estimated at over 100 million won and others ranging from 25 to 38 million won.
The market value of trot stars is drawing significant attention once again. With appearance fees for singers performing at local festivals and various events reaching tens of millions of won, Lim Young Woong's fee is estimated to be as much as 100 million won or more.

Recently, several media outlets reported estimated appearance fees for popular trot singers based on industry insider testimonies and market practices. However, since organizers and artists typically do not disclose specific contract details, the following amounts are industry estimates rather than official contract figures.
The most prominent name is Lim Young Woong. While the industry estimates his appearance fee to be over 100 million won, Lim has not been appearing at typical local festival stages recently. Given his massive public recognition and ticket power, the 100 million won estimate is viewed as a symbolic figure representing his current status.
The market value of singers from 'Mr. Trot' is also substantial. Young Tak is cited at around 38 million won, Lee Chan Won at approximately 35 million won, and Song Ga In is estimated to be between 30 million and 35 million won. Kim Ho Joong, who faced controversy following a drunk driving hit-and-run incident in 2024, was known to have an appearance fee of about 50 million won at the time. Following a 2-year and 6-month prison sentence for the incident, Kim was released on parole this June.
Traditional trot stars are also featured in these estimates. Sim Soo Bong and Jang Yoon Jeong are each cited at around the 30 million won level. Additionally, Park Ji Hyun, who has been rapidly increasing his presence, is estimated at about 30 million won and has reportedly scheduled more than 25 events in October alone.
The fees for mid-tier and rising stars are also significant. Kim Yong Bin and Park Seo Jin are each estimated to be around 25 million won. While tens of millions of won are exchanged for a single performance, actual contract amounts can vary depending on the scale of the event, location, performance duration, travel distance, and specific appearance conditions.
It is important to note that these figures are not officially disclosed fixed prices. Appearance fees are typically contracted privately and vary based on negotiations between organizers and the artists. Ultimately, figures such as Lim Young Woong's 100 million won are closer to industry reference points. Nevertheless, the fact that trot stars' influence in the event market has grown to the point where guarantees in the tens of millions of won are standard is a significant shift in the music industry.
