Sooyoung of Girls' Generation to Run with Visually Impaired in First Official Appearance After Breakup with Jung Kyung-ho
Girls' Generation's Sooyoung attends a marathon for the visually impaired, marking her first public event following her breakup with actor Jung Kyung-ho.
Girls' Generation member and actress Sooyoung will attend her first official event after announcing her breakup with actor Jung Kyung-ho on June 7, ending their 14-year relationship.
Sooyoung is set to participate in the '12th Eoullim Marathon with the Visually Impaired,' which will be held on the morning of the 13th at Pyeonghwa Park in Sangam World Cup Park, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
She previously revealed that her father has been battling a rare eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa, for over 15 years. She has long served as an ambassador for the Blindness Prevention Movement and has been at the forefront of supporting the visually impaired and those with hereditary retinal diseases, including donating 300 million won in 2023 to research funds for developing treatments for blindness-causing diseases.
Sooyoung is also scheduled to appear as Portia in the play 'The Merchant of Venice,' which opens on July 8.
