Yoon Jong-shin: "My son stopped at 178cm—my Wife says it's because of my genes"

Singer and entertainer Yoon Jong-shin revealed his personal interpretation of family genetic traits through remarks regarding his children's growth process. In particular, even in a situation where his children's height has surpassed his own, he humorously shared a 'genetic narrative' surrounding the distribution of physical traits within his family, noting that "genetics does not work in only one direction."

On the 319th episode of KBS 2TV's 'Problem Child in House' aired on the 3rd, Yoon Jong-shin and film director Jang Hang Jun appeared as guests to discuss family, music, and creative activities. During this process, the fact that all of Yoon Jong-shin's children have grown to be larger in stature than their father became a hot topic regarding family genetic traits.

Regarding this, Yoon Jong-shin explained the rapid growth process of his children, saying, "The second child was originally shorter than me, but suddenly grew during the vacation and surpassed me." He then partially agreed with the surrounding evaluations that his children's physiques mainly resemble his Wife, Jeon Mi-ra, but drew a line against interpretations that oversimplify this.

Specifically regarding his eldest son, he shared, "I thought Raik would grow to 180cm, but it seems he stopped at 178cm," adding, "My Wife jokingly said, 'Your genes blocked it.'" This remark is interpreted as emphasizing that physical characteristics within a family cannot be explained by a single genetic factor, while metaphorically revealing that genetic traits are complex results combined with environmental and growth conditions.

Furthermore, regarding his children's artistic and athletic inclinations, Yoon Jong-shin stated, "They all like sports, and musical sense is seen in some of them," adding, "Rather than forcing them, I am watching to see if they like it themselves." Yoon Jong-shin married former tennis player Jeon Mi-ra in 2006 and has one son and two daughters.
