Yoon Jong-shin Says 'Your Wedding' Was Inspired by a Former Lover

Singer and producer Yoon Jong-shin is set to open up about the creative story behind one of his signature songs, "Your Wedding," while also sharing recent stories connected to his family life.

On the KBS 2TV entertainment program "Problem Child in House," airing at 9:40 p.m. on the 3rd, Yoon Jong-shin will appear as a guest alongside film director Jang Hang-jun. The two, who have maintained a friendship for more than 30 years, will sit down with the cast and share a range of stories from their long careers and personal lives.

During the episode, Yoon will look back on the major hit songs he created while working as a lyricist, composer and music producer. He says he directly wrote, composed or produced a number of well-known tracks, including singer Sung Si-kyung's "On the Street" and "You Were Moving," as well as "You Are Different," a drama soundtrack song performed by actress Han Ye-seul.

Hong Jin-kyung reacts with surprise, saying she had not realized Yoon was behind the making of those songs. Song Eun-yi also expresses respect for his musical ability, noting that the atmosphere and level of focus change whenever Yoon begins talking about music.

Yoon then reveals the background behind "Your Wedding," one of his representative songs released in 1992. He explains that the song was inspired by an actual experience involving a former girlfriend, describing it as "a story related to a past lover whom director Jang Hang-jun also knows." The remark is said to have drawn strong interest from the other cast members.

Yoon also shares how his wife, former national tennis player Jeon Mi-ra, has responded to that side of his songwriting. He says Jeon was somewhat uncomfortable in the early days of their marriage with songs that reflected his past romantic experiences. Over time, however, she came to understand and support his musical work so much that she now even encourages him to try remembering more experiences that could become material for songs, offering a glimpse of how the couple's dynamic has changed.

The episode will also include updates on the growth of Yoon and Jeon's three children. Yoon says the children, who resemble Jeon in their outstanding physical build, have grown quickly, and that both his youngest daughter and second daughter are now taller than he is. He is expected to draw laughter by saying, "Now I am the shortest person at home."

Yoon Jong-shin has continued an active career as a singer, music producer and television personality, releasing numerous hit songs while maintaining his presence through both his musicality as a singer-songwriter and his quick wit on entertainment programs.
