'Divorce Consideration Camp' Engaged Couple Seriously Reconsiders Relationship After Fighting Over 3,000 Won Parking Fee

JTBC entertainment program 'Divorce Consideration Camp' featured an engaged couple for the first time in the show's history on the 4th, bringing a pre-marriage relationship into a format usually centered on couples already facing marital crisis.

The groom-to-be was introduced as the owner of a restaurant generating 150 million won in monthly sales. His fiancee was described as a health influencer, setting up a couple who appeared successful on the surface but whose daily conflicts had become serious enough to bring them onto the program.

The prospective husband drew immediate concern with comments about his fiancee, who is from Daejeon. Referring to her in relation to Gangnam, he said, "She did not seem like a Gangnam woman. Gangnam women are commonly divided into two types, and some come to Gangnam from outside with a purpose when dealing with men." The remark crossed a dangerous line, and he shocked the studio further when recalling the day he first met his future wife by saying he approached her "to XX her."

Seo Jang-hoon repeatedly tried to organize and soften the husband's remarks, but eventually gave up trying to help him. After several attempts to interpret the comments more favorably, Seo said, "He keeps making remarks that are impossible to shield," making clear that there was no reasonable way to defend what had been said.

The couple's conflicts broke out constantly over small matters, including shopping and a 3,000 won parking fee. According to the broadcast, the fiancee, who was physically weak and sensitive, often became irritated and tried to control situations, while the prospective husband tried to keep her in a good mood for as long as possible before finally exploding, leading to fights.

One argument began when the husband came to pick her up at a supermarket. The fiancee became irritated and told him, "It is a waste that we had to pay 3,000 won for parking. If we had bought just 20,000 won more worth of groceries, we could have met the 50,000 won requirement for free parking. Why did you park here?" The small parking charge became another flashpoint between the two.

When Seo Jang-hoon sympathized with the husband's position, the husband looked satisfied and said, "I remembered how much I had suffered over 3,000 won all this time. It felt like someone was finally on my side." Even after that moment of validation, however, the couple's argument continued instead of calming down.

The dispute eventually escalated when the husband shouted, "Do not get cocky. Do not touch me," and slammed his fist down on the desk several times. The impact was serious enough that the monitor turned off. Seo Jang-hoon warned him, "Once violence erupts one time, it becomes stronger after the second and third times," pointing out the danger of letting such behavior continue.

Despite the depth of their conflict, the couple had a reason for promising marriage. The husband said he remained grateful because his fiancee stayed with him when he failed to expand his restaurant branches and lost the entire 1 billion won he had invested. According to him, she told him, "Be sad for just one month, and I will help you get back on your feet." He added, "I do not think these issues alone are enough to call off the engagement. My intention to break it off is 0 percent."

The fiancee also explained why she had supported him. She said, "I met him because I liked him as a person, not because of money, and since I had thought about marriage with him, I wanted us to keep going together." Her statement showed that her decision to help came from commitment to the relationship rather than financial interest.

Even so, the broadcast showed that the couple's problems were not in a situation where they could be easily resolved. They clashed over one small issue after another, and the pattern of irritation, appeasement and explosion kept repeating. Seo Jang-hoon pointed to the husband's selfishness and advised both of them to think carefully, saying, "It will be like this going forward too. If you are going to get married, you need to think about it seriously."
