Former SBS executive Choi Young-in named CEO of SM C&C entertainment division

Choi Young-in, the former head of the SBS entertainment division who led a series of flagship variety shows to success, has joined SM C&C as the new CEO of its entertainment business division. As a production expert who has led broadcast content for 36 years, his appointment to oversee management and digital content businesses is drawing significant attention to the strengthening of SM C&C's content competitiveness.

SM C&C officially announced on the 3rd, "We have appointed former SBS entertainment division head Choi Young-in as the new CEO of the entertainment business division."

As the new CEO, Choi will oversee the entirety of SM C&C's entertainment business division, focusing particularly on branding for the digital studio business and enhancing content competitiveness.

The company stated, "Based on his long-accumulated experience in content production, we expect him to establish the identity of our digital studio and increase business competitiveness by discovering differentiated original content and new IP."

CEO Choi is a variety show expert who graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Far Eastern History and has led broadcast content production and organizational management for 36 years through his tenure at EBS and SBS.

At SBS, he served as the head of the entertainment division, and subsequently led content production and business diversification as the head of the production business division at Studio Prism.

Representative programs he directed or participated in producing include 'Ya Shim Man Man', 'Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy', 'Fantastic Duo', and 'My Little Old Boy'.

In particular, 'My Little Old Boy' has established itself as a long-running flagship variety show for SBS, recording both high viewership ratings and significant buzz.
