'I Am SOLO' Season 32 Divorced Singles Special Reveals Contestants: "My Daughter Told Me to Bring Home a Good Uncle"

The Season 32 divorced singles special of the SBS Plus and ENA entertainment program 'I Am SOLO' opened on June 3, introducing a new group of contestants looking for another chance at love. As the first story of the season unfolded, the female cast members drew attention in particular for their striking visuals.

The episode first introduced seven divorced male contestants. Yeong-su, who stood out with an appealing low-pitched voice, drew notice with a candid self-introduction. "I have a bit of a wild streak," he said. He added that his assets are worth around 900 million to 1 billion won, and also revealed that he had once dated a Miss Korea contestant.

Yeong-cheol shared a more painful personal history. He said he reunited with his first love and married her, only to lose her after illness. "My wife battled sarcoma and passed away after one year," he said. "After that, I did not date for eight years. Even before filming, my children sent me supportive text messages." His story gave the introduction a somber tone as he explained the long period he spent away from romance.

Gyeong-su looked back on his first marriage and spoke about what he believed had contributed to the divorce. Reflecting on that time, he said, "I did not understand my wife's postpartum depression." By naming that regret directly, he described his divorce as a consequence of a difficult period he had not fully understood while living through it.

The women contestants' stories were then revealed. Yeong-suk said that in a past common-law relationship, she had been the one who pushed more actively toward marriage. As she spoke about wanting to meet a warm and affectionate person, she shed tears. Although she drew attention for her beautiful appearance, she said she had unexpectedly dated only once in her life and tends to become nervous and make mistakes in front of men she likes.

Jeong-suk also opened up about marrying after reuniting with her first love. She said she currently has a 13-year-old son and described her present relationship with her ex-husband in calm terms. "I returned to being friends with my ex-husband, and we get along well," she said. "He is the baby's father." She also revealed that she now prefers younger men.

Sun-ja said she had never once left Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, since birth. She explained that at age 26, she married a school senior who had been her first love after becoming pregnant before marriage. The marriage ended in divorce after two years, and she is now raising a son in his second year of middle school.

Yeong-ja showed a bright side of herself, but began crying as soon as she started talking about her daughter. Before appearing on the show, she asked her daughter, "Is it okay if Mom goes on there?" According to Yeong-ja, her daughter encouraged her by saying, "Bring home a good uncle." The exchange became one of the episode's emotional moments, linking her appearance on the program to her child's support.

Ok-sun said her divorce came after conflict with her former in-laws. Explaining the reason for the split, she said, "I think they wanted us to live together." She then emphasized her own appeal, saying that she is more easygoing than people may expect and is not introverted.
