'I Am SOLO' Backbiting Controversy: Jeong-hui and Yeong-hui, and now Yeong Sik, apologize

Yeong Sik from the 31st season of the ENA and SBS Plus entertainment program 'I Am SOLO' expressed his feelings through a handwritten letter after the broadcast ended.

On the 31st of last month, 31st season Yeong Sik shared on his SNS, "This particularly cold winter will likely remain a season that stays in my memory for a long time. While my appearance on the show was not my everything, I approached that time with sincerity and my true heart. In an unfamiliar and tense environment, I was able to meet new connections, share our hearts, and learn and feel many things. There were moments when I could have done better and moments when I could have been more honest, but since those were also the me of that day, I intend to hold onto them as lessons rather than regrets."

He added, "I learned that I can grow one step further through the process of acknowledging even my shortcomings. Now that the broadcast has ended, rather than understanding others first, I find myself looking back at myself. Instead of lightly brushing off the moments I regret, I am using them as an opportunity for self-reflection, and in the future, I will think and act more deeply so as not to leave the same kind of regrets behind."

Finally, he vowed, "I am accepting all the interest and support, as well as the sharp advice and criticism sent through the broadcast, with a grateful heart. I will show through my actions the parts that were lacking and strive to maintain my good qualities for longer."

The 31st season of ENA and SBS Plus 'I Am SOLO,' which ended on the 27th of last month, became embroiled in a 'backbiting controversy' when a scene was revealed where Ok-sun, Yeong Suk, and Jeong-hui were talking about Sunja. After the broadcast ended, photos from an after-party where Sunja and Gyeong Su were missing were also released, leading to various speculations regarding the relationships between the cast members.

Amidst this situation, Jeong-hui apologized via SNS on the 30th of last month. Jeong-hui stated, "Although my time in Solo Land has concluded, I know that the hurt I caused Sunja does not end just because the broadcast has ended. The feelings of those who felt uncomfortable with what I did are also justified."

Yeong Suk also bowed her head in apology on her SNS, saying, "I bow my head in apology to the viewers who may have felt uncomfortable due to my lacking words and actions while watching the broadcast. Most of all, I am sincerely sorry to Sunja, who may have received the greatest hurt from this incident. The broadcast has ended, but my reflection will continue in my daily life.
