Jeong Jun-ha Reveals He Joined Cooking School to Survive His Japanese Wife's Small Portions
Comedian Jeong Jun-ha humorously shares how his Japanese wife's small meal portions led him to enroll in cooking school to avoid starving.
Broadcaster Jeong Jun-ha humorously revealed the background behind why he started attending a cooking school while mentioning his married life with his Japanese wife.

In the content 'Please Make Side Dishes for Jeong Jun-ha's Drinks, Featuring a Chinese Cuisine Master and a Chinese Cuisine Goddess from Culinary Class Wars,' which was released on the YouTube channel 'Jeong Jun-ha Ha Ha' on the 1st, Jeong Jun-ha was captured sharing various stories while learning Chinese cuisine from Chef Yeo Kyung-rae and Chef Park Eun Young.
Prior to the full-scale cooking lesson that day, Jeong Jun-ha stated, "I have actually attended cooking school for quite a long time," and when Chef Park Eun Young asked why he learned cooking professionally, he drew laughter by replying, "I did it to make a living."
He then recalled the time with a joking expression, saying, "Since my wife is Japanese, she prepares very small amounts of food," adding, "I felt like I might starve to death if I wasn't careful, so I started attending cooking school."
Jeong Jun-ha also mentioned the differences in food culture between Korea and Japan. He said, "When I ate at home in the past, my mother would prepare plenty of *kimchi* and various side dishes, but my wife serves rice with miso soup, a few pieces of kkakdugi, and a few anchovies," noting, "Since she is Japanese, I think her meal portions are basically small."
These remarks, which used his unique humor to describe the daily life of a couple stemming from different food cultures and lifestyles, drew laughter from the cast. Jeong Jun-ha began his broadcasting activities through MBC's 'Theme Theater' in 1994 and officially made his debut the following year as a 6th generation comedian specially recruited by MBC. He subsequently built public recognition through his activities in variety programs. In 2011, he married his Japanese wife, Yagi Nina, and they have a son. At the time of their marriage, he revealed that there was opposition from his wife's family due to differences in nationality and cultural background, and since then, he has steadily introduced his married life of building a family while understanding different cultures and lifestyles through broadcasts.
