Kim Na-young addresses 'poor meal' controversy with humor

Broadcaster Kim Na-young once again addressed and humorously clarified the recurring controversy regarding her "poor meals."

On the 15th, a video titled "Kim Na-young's Favorite Hyoja-dong Restaurant Recipe: Bamboo Shoot Carbonara" was uploaded to her YouTube channel "Kim Na-young's No Filter TV."

In the video, Kim Na-young introduced the cooking process as she personally prepared bamboo shoot carbonara. After prepping the bamboo shoots and onions, she declared before starting to cook, "I am going to make a large amount today."

When the production crew jokingly asked, "Did that comment sting?" Kim laughed and replied, "Yes," adding, "It feels like you all are constantly watching to see if I make a lot or a little, so I'm going to make a truly large amount today."

She then shared her honest feelings, saying, "When I cook with that mindset, food always ends up being left over. My family is currently very full. It actually breaks my heart if food is left over."

After finishing the cooking, she added a self-deprecating joke that drew laughter, saying, "I struggled to fit this much into such a small pan. My hands are just this big."

Kim has previously expressed her stance on similar controversies.

In a video released last May, a so-called "poor meal" controversy arose when some viewers pointed out that the amount of food prepared for her two sons appeared insufficient. Regarding this, Kim explained, "It was definitely not a small amount. It just seemed smaller than it actually was on screen," and subsequently demonstrated by making a jumbo-sized beef and vegetable fried rice.

In this latest video, Kim showed her witty way of handling the previous controversy by mentioning her family's actual eating capacity and the fact that food often goes to waste.

Kim has been raising her two sons alone since her divorce in 2019, and remarried in October last year to singer and painter MY Q, with whom she has been in a public relationship since 2021. Since then, she has been communicating with the public by steadily sharing her family and Il-sang through YouTube and various broadcasts.
