Lee A-young clarifies wedding details after marrying Sim Gyu-deok

Lee A-young, a former participant of 'Love After Divorce', has cleared up various misunderstandings by directly revealing everything from wedding costs and her relationship with her mother-in-law to the five-month wedding preparation process following her remarriage to lawyer Sim Gyu-deok.

On the 25th, Lee took time to answer fans' questions on her SNS, sharing various stories regarding her wedding held on the 23rd at a wedding hall in Kangnam, Seoul. The two met through their respective appearances on MBN's 'Love After Divorce 1' and 'Dolsingles 5', and eventually married after being introduced by an acquaintance last January.

The scale and cost of the wedding drew the most attention. Lee stated that while the guaranteed number of guests was 400, approximately 500 to 600 people actually attended. She explained that there were many guests who only stopped by to say hello without eating, and the number of people who had meals also exceeded the initial guarantee.

The wedding cost was around 100 million won. However, Lee noted that due to help from acquaintances, various discounts, and sponsorships, as well as more congratulatory money than expected, they actually ended up with a surplus even after deducting the expenses.

She stated, "We received help from acquaintances and a lot of congratulatory money, so we actually ended up with extra," noting it was an unexpected result.

Regarding the wedding preparation process, it was revealed that Sim bore most of the costs. Lee described the payment ratio as "Gyu-deok is 9," explaining that Sim took charge of the actual expenditures. She played the role of connecting discounts and sponsorships through help from those around her.

In particular, it was reported that Sim was so cautious about spending that he even struggled to choose wedding gifts. Lee revealed that even when she tried to hand him money, Sim refused to take it, eventually telling her to use the congratulatory money for wedding preparations once it arrived.

Another point of interest surrounding the wedding was the attitude of her mother-in-law. Previously, curiosity had grown due to some reports interpreting that Sim's mother had opposed her son's remarriage or had wept heavily at the wedding.

Lee drew a clear line regarding this. She emphasized, "She is someone who is just waiting for the weather to get colder so she can wear the fur vest she bought for me," adding, "The articles were reported strangely; she never once opposed it."

Rather, she explained that they have a close relationship, with her mother-in-law frequently preparing *kimchi* and various foods, and even calling her to eat steamed potatoes or corn. She stated that the tears shed at the wedding were not a sign of opposition, but rather an emotional response to the hardships her son and daughter-in-law had endured.

Lee added, "Since both of us have gone through so much heartache, she likely cried because she felt sad to see Gyu-deok leaving [to start a new life with me]," and noted that her own mother also shed tears of joy.

The two prepared for the wedding for about five months. It wasn't just about preparing the ceremony within that short period. According to Lee, they had to organize the house and make major changes for broadcast filming, while also handling moving, wallpapering, and replacing furniture and appliances. They went on a trip to Jeju Island with family, managed Sim's schedule in Hawaii, and she continued her freelance work.

Additionally, she went through a mentally difficult time for about two weeks due to malicious comments pouring in after the broadcast, during which she began YouTube activities while learning video editing. Looking back at that time, Lee expressed, "I really thought about quitting everything, but I endured it hard."

On the day of the wedding, she confessed that her physical condition was her biggest regret. She shared her wedding review with her characteristic honesty, saying she regretted attempting things she doesn't normally do.

She also shared her realistic feelings regarding the number of guests. Lee said she didn't expect many guests from the start due to various overlapping circumstances, including settling matters from her previous marriage, acquaintances living in rural areas, working from home, and her resignation.

Nevertheless, she expressed gratitude that more people attended than expected and that even the congratulatory messages from those who couldn't make it were enough. While Sim's acquaintances joined during the wedding, she said she didn't feel embarrassed by it, but rather hoped the guests, who attended in the hot weather, could eat quickly.
