Lim Hyunsik reveals stent procedure and 8kg weight loss

Actor Lim Hyunsik is opening up about the health deterioration and long-term treatment process he experienced last year. Interest in his health is resurfacing as it was revealed that, following emergency treatment for pesticide poisoning, he suffered symptoms such as digestive and circulatory issues, eventually requiring a stent procedure.

In the 40th episode of MBN's "Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night," scheduled to air on the 29th, actors Lim Hyunsik and Hwang Seok-jeong will appear. During the recent recording, Lim drew the attention of the cast by appearing noticeably thinner than before. He revealed that since around last summer, he felt abnormal signals throughout his body and visited the hospital with his daughters for intensive testing.

Lim described his condition at the time as, "Indigestion, gallbladder issues, poor blood circulation, and various other malfunctions." He explained that symptoms he initially thought were mere temporary declines in condition led to problems with several bodily functions, ultimately resulting in a stent procedure.

"I underwent tests and treatment for about six months," he stated, noting that the treatment process lasted for a significant period. In particular, he confessed that he lost about 7 to 8kg during that time, adding, "It is an age where quick recovery is difficult," giving a glimpse into the physical burden the veteran actor endured.

However, he showed a relatively positive outlook regarding his current health status. Lim shared, "I've gotten a bit better lately. I think my condition is okay." He even showed a relaxed side, laughing as he mentioned that following medical advice, he takes a nap for 30 minutes to an hour during the day, saying, "I sleep as much as I want."

Lim's health issues are not being disclosed for the first time. He previously appeared on MBN's "Altoran" last year and revealed that he was treated in the emergency room after being exposed to pesticides while farming. He explained that during the process of spraying pesticides, some were inhaled through his respiratory system, causing him to lose consciousness and be transported to the hospital.
