The Bulkkot Fighters, still carrying the disappointment of their first loss, are preparing for a rebound by adding new strength to the roster. With Oh Seung-hwan, who has recorded 549 career saves across professional baseball in Korea, the United States, and Japan, and veteran utility player Jung Hoon joining the team, a shift in the clubhouse atmosphere is already being felt.
Episode 7 of Studio C1's baseball entertainment program Fire Baseball 2, set to be released at 8 p.m. on June 22, will show the Bulkkot Fighters reinforcing their squad ahead of a game against the Dankook University baseball team. After previously suffering their first defeat of the season against Hanyang University, the players wait for their new teammates with visible anticipation after general manager Jang Si-won shares news of the reinforcements.
The first new face to appear is Oh Seung-hwan, introduced with his nickname, Dolbucheo. When the legendary pitcher, who built a total of 549 saves while competing on Korean, American, and Japanese stages, walks in, the team responds with loud applause and cheers. Lee Dae-ho and Jeong Keun-woo, both born in 1982 like Oh, greet the slightly shy newcomer with playful jokes and obvious warmth.
Immediately after joining, Oh Seung-hwan raises the tension among the pitching staff by declaring, "I will try preparing as a starter, too," showing an eager attitude toward his new role. Yoo Hee-kwan, one of the existing starters, jokingly checks him by saying, "I think he still believes he is Oh Seung-hwan, doesn't he?" drawing laughter from the room. Meanwhile, Shin Jae-young, a junior from Dankook University, stays close to Oh with a deeply respectful attitude, even following behind him during warmups and turning the scene into a source of laughter.
Another new member, Jung Hoon, makes his entrance in a noticeably different atmosphere. Unlike Oh Seung-hwan, who joins as an official member, Jung is introduced in the temporary status of an albasaeng, or part-time helper. He even appears without uniform marking prepared for him, creating a situation that is both funny and slightly painful to watch. When he is treated with what looks like unequal treatment, including being assigned only one filming camera, Jung instead shows determination, saying, "A part-timer doesn't need a camera."
Jung Hoon quickly begins an intense warmup session and then makes his presence felt in batting practice by launching a refreshing home run. Attention is now focused on whether he can prove his value in the actual game after receiving this new opportunity.
After reorganizing their lineup following the first loss, the Bulkkot Fighters are raising viewer expectations over what kind of change they will show with the reliable support of Oh Seung-hwan and Jung Hoon.
The arrival of the new faces is giving the team more than a simple boost in personnel, injecting fresh energy into both the team atmosphere and the competitive structure within the squad.
