Park Kyung Lim calls her son a 'common guy' despite praise for his looks

Broadcaster Park Kyung Lim brought laughter to listeners by responding to compliments about her son's appearance with her signature wit. Her honest reaction—describing him as a 'common guy' (heun-nam) instead of a 'handsome guy' in response to praise that he is "tall and handsome"—has become a hot topic.

On the 16th, Park appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U's 'Dusiui Deiteu An Yeong-mi-imnida' to share various stories. Singer Lee So-ra hosted the show as a special DJ in place of Ahn Young Mi.

During the broadcast, Park mentioned an anecdote from her wedding, where more than 5,000 guests attended. She joked, "I would like to take this opportunity to say I'm sorry. The seats are already full, so many of you couldn't get in," drawing laughter.

She continued, "I can't do it twice. Since I've caused trouble for so many people, I will make sure to live a good life," lightening the mood with her characteristic humor.

Afterward, Lee brought up the topic of Park's son. Showing interest, she said, "I heard your son is quite tall and handsome."

To this, Park immediately offered a humble response, saying, "That's a story you can only tell to people who haven't seen him."

When Lee added, "I haven't seen a photo, but when our PD said, 'Kyung Lim's son is a handsome guy,' you replied, 'He's a common guy,'" Park quipped, "That's right. He's a common style," drawing more laughter.

Park's choice to use plain expressions instead of excessive superlatives for her child resonated with the public. While many star parents tend to emphasize their children's looks or talents, Park protected her son in her own way while keeping the conversation lighthearted.

Park married Park Jung-hoon, a company man one year younger than her, whom she met through the 2007 KBS 2TV blind date program 'Introduce a Good Person.' The couple has a son.
