Park Mi-sun Returns as a Regular Variety MC 18 Months After Breast Cancer, Joined by Lee Bong-won
Comedian Park Mi-sun returns to regular variety hosting on MBN's new family reality show with husband Lee Bong-won after pausing work for breast cancer treatment.
Comedian Park Mi-sun announced her return to television hosting at the online production presentation for MBN's new variety program "Someone Else's Precious Family," held on the morning of the 2nd. Park, who had paused all activities while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, attended the event alongside Lee Soo-geun, Lee Bong-won, Shinji, Go Joon-hee and Jeon Min-ki.

Park is returning as a regular MC on a variety program for the first time in roughly a year and six months, following TV CHOSUN's "Now Alone," which ended in December 2024. After being unable to continue broadcast activities during her breast cancer battle, she signaled her return to television last December with a guest appearance on "You Quiz on the Block." Through the new program, also referred to as "Precious Family," she will now meet viewers regularly again as a host.
The show is drawing added attention because Park will appear together with her husband, Lee Bong-won.
Speaking about her comeback, Park said she felt both nervous and worried because it had been so long since she had filmed for television. Still, she said the shoot felt comfortable because she was working with people who felt like family, and truly were family-like to her. "I do not really know how the broadcast will turn out," she said. "We did well, and if it is not funny, I suppose the producers will edit it well. The ratings have nothing to do with us. We did very well." Her remarks showed confidence about returning to the set.
Lee Bong-won reflected on working with his wife again, saying, "In any case, it has been about 10 years since I appeared in a real variety program together with Park Mi-sun. Even though it felt a little awkward, it also seemed like our teamwork was there." He offered that assessment of the on-screen chemistry between the couple.
Park said she had been especially worried about her stamina. "To be honest, I thought about it a great deal," she said. "I wondered, 'Is it okay for me to start working now?' and 'Should I wait a little longer?' I did not have confidence, and because my physical strength is not what it used to be, I worried a lot. Still, because my husband said he would do it with me, I thought I might be able to rely on him a little, and that is why I decided to appear." Her explanation conveyed her trust in Lee Bong-won.
Lee also said he had worried about Park's condition. "Honestly, I was concerned," he said. "I wondered whether her condition had recovered that much. She says her stamina has recovered to about 60 to 70 percent, so the thing I worry about is the issue of physical strength." His comments underlined his concern for Park as she resumes regular broadcast work.
