Park Si-eun Says She Miscarried 20 Days Before Delivery and Still Feels Trauma in Ultrasound Rooms
Park Si-eun opened up on SBS's Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 about miscarrying 20 days before delivery and the trauma she still feels in ultrasound rooms.
On the June 2 broadcast of SBS's variety program Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny, the latest chapter in Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun's 12th year of marriage was shown, and Park spoke openly about the miscarriage she endured.

Park Si-eun began by saying that, although it has now been four years by calendar count, she still had not been able to bring the experience out into words. She said the memories returned when she entered an ultrasound room, describing it as the place where she had faced three pregnancies and their endings. For her, she said, it remains a difficult space. Park suffered the pain of miscarriage in 2022, just 20 days before she was due to give birth.
She explained through tears why the ultrasound room had become so frightening. When a baby is alive, she said, the ultrasound screen shows color. But when the baby has lost life, the screen changes to black and white. Park recalled that when the doctor said, "Why is this happening?" she looked at the monitor and saw that there was no color. It was black and white. She said she has never been able to forget that image, and that the memory made the ultrasound room feel terrifying. Speaking about it, she added, had been extremely hard.
Park then said she felt that talking about it in this way might help her let it go. She said she felt as though Tae-eun had sent her older sisters to them, and expressed gratitude for being able to share life with her current family, saying she was glad to have many daughters because of it.
Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun married in 2015 and adopted a daughter who was a university student in 2019. They later adopted two more daughters who were already adults at the time of adoption.
