Season 31 Sang-cheol Calls Out Sun-ja on 'I Am Solo': 'Why Is She Listening to That?'

Season 31 cast member Sang-cheol of ENA and SBS Plus' dating reality show "I Am Solo" reacted sharply after watching the program's much-discussed "girl talk" scene, questioning Sun-ja's behavior during the moment.

On June 1, the YouTube channel Chonjang Entertainment TV released a video titled "[I Am SOLO Broadcast Reaction] Season 31_Why Are Conversations Always Happening on My Bed...?" In the video, Season 31 participants Yeong-suk, Jeong-suk, Yeong-ja, Ok-soon, Jeong-hui, Yeong-su, Yeong-sik, Yeong-cheol, Gwang-su and Sang-cheol sat together and talked while watching the episode. Yeong-ho, Sun-ja and Gyeong-su did not attend the gathering.

The cast members watched the final episode of Season 31 together and focused in particular on the "girl talk" scene involving Yeong-suk, Ok-soon and Jeong-hui, which had drawn attention from viewers. In that scene, Yeong-suk spoke with Ok-soon and Jeong-hui about Gyeong-su, whose storyline appeared to be forming a love-triangle dynamic involving Sun-ja. When Sun-ja passed in front of the room, Jeong-hui closed the door and the conversation continued.

However, even though the door had been shut, the sound of the conversation still carried into the next room and reached Sun-ja. Watching that unfold, the participants reacted by saying that it seemed everything could be heard after all, adding that people needed to be careful about soundproofing at all times.

At that point, Sang-cheol criticized Sun-ja's behavior, asking, "Why is she listening to that from outside?" Ok-soon also pushed back against Sun-ja's attitude, saying Sun-ja could simply have come into the room and that it was not as if they had not been on speaking terms.

Sang-cheol then offered his own interpretation of the scene. He said Ok-soon and Jeong-hui were not taking anyone's side, but were instead saying that Gyeong-su did not like either woman. Ok-soon agreed, explaining that Gyeong-su's behavior had been ambiguous. Her response appeared aimed at easing the controversy raised by some viewers who had interpreted the scene as the participants talking behind Sun-ja's back.

When Yeong-ja was not visible in the scene, Ok-soon asked her where she had been. Yeong-ja replied that she had always been outside because she did not want to get involved. Her answer meant that she had no intention of inserting herself into the confrontational dynamic between Sun-ja and Yeong-suk, Ok-soon and Jeong-hui. Ok-soon laughed and told Yeong-ja that she had made a wise choice.

Sun-ja is currently no longer following the social media accounts of the Season 31 participants, with the exception of Gyeong-su, the cast member with whom she became a real-life couple.
