Sunja from I Am SOLO 31 Pinpoints Yeong-ja After Gossip Controversy

'I Am SOLO' 31st contestant Sunja shared her thoughts after the program concluded.

Sunja, from the SBS Plus and ENA dating reality program 'I Am SOLO', expressed her feelings regarding the end of the show.

On the 28th, Sunja posted a long message on her Instagram, saying, "From the time I entered Solo Land this past January until now, everything felt as distant as if trapped in a cycle of time, but after 9 weeks of broadcasting, the time has come to share my thoughts on the show with my acquaintances and viewers."

She continued, "The 5 nights and 6 days spent inside Solo Land will remain as the most intense and high-density moments of my life. Because I was sincere in every moment, I sometimes faced misunderstandings and emotional struggles, but looking back, that process allowed me to face a stronger version of myself and reflect on my shortcomings," expressing how much she has matured.

As if conscious of the controversy regarding being the victim of gossip, she shared her inner thoughts: "I have believed that whether others dislike me or like me is not my business but rather their own heart, and I have lived trying to cultivate the virtue of magnanimity without being preoccupied by such views. Similarly, regarding the feeling of liking someone, I have believed it is my responsibility to express my heart to the best of my ability without calculating or hesitating, and if our hearts do not align, to let go without regret."

A scene was broadcast where her roommates Ok-soon, Yeong-suk, and Jeong-hee were seen badmouthing Sunja, which fueled controversy as Sunja overheard them. In effect, the three roommates had gossiped about Sunja. During filming, the one participant who comforted the distressed Sunja was Yeong-ja.

Sunja expressed her gratitude to Yeong-ja, saying, "Whenever moments came where I had to swallow my resentment, I gained the strength to endure because of Yeong-ja's support, who understood my situation, and my conviction regarding Gyeong Su's sincerity, which wasn't fully captured on screen. This allowed me to stay true to my duties and emotions."

She added, "I sincerely thank everyone who viewed my shortcomings beautifully and supported me. Although I couldn't reply to every single one of the outpouring DMs and comments, I engraved every single letter deep in my heart, and my heart felt moved and happy whenever I felt that warm sincerity."

Sunja became a final couple with Gyeong Su on 'I Am SOLO' and has continued their relationship to this day. She requested, "I want to leave the past in its place and now focus on my daily life and existence. Now, Gyeong Su and Sunja will move forward as Sang-jun and Da-eun, getting to know each other more and adjusting our pace outside of Solo Land. Please watch over us with warm eyes."
