Shin Bong-sun Shows Off Gold Received as Prizes Over 20 Years, Now Up 13-Fold
Comedian Shin Bong-sun revealed the gold keys and medals she has kept from TV appearances and awards, including MBC Entertainment Awards prizes.
Comedian Shin Bong-sun revealed the gold she has received over the years through her broadcast career and as prize items from award ceremonies in a video released on YouTube on June 5.

In the video, Shin was looking at a plaque of appreciation from SBS PowerFM when she recalled how gold prizes were commonly given out during her early years in entertainment. "When I was a rookie and appeared on quiz shows and programs like that, they would give out golden keys, and I still have them without having sold even one," she said.
She then personally showed the pure gold assets she has been keeping at home. Among the items that stood out were a one-nyang golden key she received as the winner's prize from the variety program "Brain King Einstein," as well as gold prizes from programs including "Quiz! Sixth Sense Match" and "Economy Vitamin."
Shin also revealed gold medals she received as prize items when she won at the MBC Entertainment Awards, including the Rookie Award and Special Award in 2015 and the Top Excellence Award in 2021.
"In the past, there was that much generosity," Shin said. "Anyway, I have kept them well."
When Shin debuted in 2005, the gold price was around 60,000 won per don, a traditional Korean gold weight unit equal to 3.75 grams. Recently, however, it has risen above the 800,000-won range, increasing by about 15 times over 20 years. Song Eun-yi looked at Shin with a proud expression and told her, "You did well."
