'Track Karina' Kim Min-ji Says Her Home Was Exposed After 'Single's Inferno 5'
Former national team hurdler and broadcaster Kim Min-ji says she felt unsafe after a real estate listing exposed the officetel where she lives.
Kim Min-ji, the former track and field athlete turned broadcaster known by the nickname "Track Karina," has spoken about the distress she experienced after her residence was effectively exposed following her appearance on Netflix's dating reality show "Single's Inferno Season 5."

Kim recently shared the account through her YouTube channel. She said that shortly after moving into a newly built officetel, she began having a dispute with the landlord and was already considering moving out. During that process, she unexpectedly learned that information pointing to her address had been made public.
According to Kim, her older sister was looking into a possible new home on her behalf when a real estate office mentioned that "athlete Kim Min-ji lives nearby." Kim then checked a real estate application herself and found that a listing in the same officetel described the property with the phrase "the building where Single's Inferno Kim Min-ji lives." She said it was essentially the same as having her residence exposed and that the discovery was so unsettling it left her with trauma.
Kim said she contacted a lawyer to respond to the situation. The post was removed only after related documents were sent to the real estate side, but by then she felt many people already knew that the name of the officetel where she lived had appeared on a property app. That anxiety was followed by another unpleasant incident: a fire broke out at the officetel's recycling area, and while she was evacuating, a man who recognized her tried to take her photo without permission.
She also described how the exposure of her home changed her daily routine. Kim said that when taking the elevator up, she would first get off on a different floor and then use the stairs because she was afraid someone might find out which unit or floor she lived on. She added that no one else lived on her floor and there was no CCTV there, which made the situation feel even more frightening. On one occasion, she said, a delivery worker she met at 5 a.m. recognized her, and she asked him to keep the fact that she lived there a secret.
Kim said her home should be a safe and comfortable place, but it no longer felt that way. She said she believes the experience has caused trauma, and she has decided that when she moves, she will relocate to a completely different neighborhood. She also said she does not plan to reveal where she moves next.
Kim Min-ji is a former South Korean national team track and field athlete who competed in the women's 400-meter hurdles. She has since expanded her career into broadcasting through appearances on the variety program "Shooting Stars" and Netflix's "Single's Inferno Season 5."
