BIG Naughty revealed his fiancée Woo-joo’s face and shared footage of his proposal as he announced their marriage. She inspired several of his love songs, including “Vancouver” and “Vancouver 2.”
Singer BIG Naughty, whose birth name is Seo Dong-hyun, has announced that he is getting married at 23 to Woo-joo, the woman he first met at age 8 and the inspiration behind several of his love songs. He also revealed his fiancée’s face and released footage of his proposal, drawing keen interest from fans.
“We first met when I was 8, and we’re getting married when I’m 23,” he wrote on social media on the 15th. He expressed his affection and gratitude, adding, “My sincere thanks to Woo-joo, who has always been a great inspiration to me, and to all of you who love what she has inspired.”
The video accompanying the announcement showed affectionate moments between the couple and ended with BIG Naughty offering his fiancée a ring. Moved by the unexpected proposal, she embraced him, and the couple held each other as they shared their joy. The revelation of her previously undisclosed face brought further attention to the marriage announcement.
BIG Naughty had first told fans about the marriage on the 14th in a group messaging room. “I’ve decided to spend my life with the person who is the subject of many songs, including ‘Vancouver’ and ‘Vancouver 2,’” he said. Music fans offered congratulations as news spread that he would marry the woman he had loved for so long.
“Vancouver” and “Vancouver 2” are known as songs he wrote himself based on his feelings for one woman. He previously attracted attention by revealing that he had loved a woman without reciprocation for more than 10 years, and later disclosed that they had become a couple. Their marriage announcement has drawn particular interest because the woman behind his songs will now become his wife.
He also thanked fans through music. “I wondered what I could give you, so I uploaded a little song to YouTube,” he said. Currently serving as a social service worker, he added, “I will faithfully complete my service and return more mature.” His service began on the 10th of last month.
Born in 2003, BIG Naughty rose to prominence in 2019 through Mnet’s hip-hop competition program Show Me the Money 8. He subsequently won affection from music fans with releases including “Let's Call It Affection,” “Vancouver” and “Romantic Symphony.” As the childhood connection behind his love songs leads to marriage, attention is also turning to how he will portray this new chapter of his life in future music.
