UFC fighter Brian Ortega and Jay Park pose together after 6-year feud

UFC star Brian Ortega and singer Jay Park confirm their reconciliation with a photo, six years after a physical altercation at UFC 248.

The bad blood that once led to claims of a "dislocated jaw" has ended in laughter six years later. UFC star Brian Ortega, who caused controversy by slapping singer Jay Park, released a photo standing side-by-side with Park with his arm around his shoulder.

On the 28th, Ortega posted on his SNS, "Squashed it. All respect," along with South Korea and Mexico flag emojis. The photo shows Park and Ortega looking at the camera with their shoulders touching affectionately. It is a pairing that would have been difficult to imagine considering the past incident.

Park also left a comment on Ortega's post, responding: "It is already all resolved. Those who know, know. I respect you. As I said, I have always been a fan. T-City!" This serves as a public confirmation that the long-standing grudge has been settled.

The conflict between the two dates back to 2020. At that time, Park was acting as an interpreter for his close friend, The Korean Zombie. During UFC 248 held in Las Vegas, United States, while The Korean Zombie had briefly stepped away, Ortega slapped Park's cheek.

The incident stemmed from a misunderstanding during the interpretation process. Ortega perceived that Park was provoking him while interpreting The Korean Zombie's remarks, which led to a direct confrontation. Later, Park recalled the situation on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation's Radio Star, explaining, "I interpreted it in a softened way, but he misunderstood it as me driving a wedge between them."

The impact was not a simple happening. Park described being slapped while defenseless, saying his "jaw turned," and revealed that his molars did not fit together properly for about a month. Ortega later admitted his actions were wrong and expressed his apologies to both The Korean Zombie and Park.

Now, six years later, the two have confirmed their reconciliation not just with words, but with a photo. The two, who once surprised the public with an unexpected assault, are now smiling with their arms around each other. Ortega's words, "Squashed it. All respect," mark the final chapter of their long-standing feud.
