Comedian Jeong Jun-ha demonstrated his special friendship by visiting a fruit shop operated by BTS Jin's older brother, Kim Seok-jung. Mentioning that his son, Roha, loves mangoes, he purchased a box and surprised those on-site by telling a staff member to "charge 1 million won." This generous spending by Jeong Jun-ha is drawing renewed attention following a recent controversy regarding the 7,500 won price of yogurt ice cream he operates.
In a video released on the YouTube channel Jung Joon-ha-ha-ha on the 27th, Jeong Jun-ha is seen visiting the businesses of his colleagues alongside Park Myeong-su. The two first visited a tonkatsu restaurant opened by Jung Hyung-don in Seongsu-dong. Visiting to celebrate the opening, they ordered several menu items and promised to provide honest evaluations after tasting them.
During the meal, a playful tension arose regarding Jung Hyung-don's stake in the business. When Jeong Jun-ha asked about the reason for starting the shop, Jung Hyung-don mentioned his older colleagues' businesses, saying, "Jun-ha hyung is doing business, and Myeong-su hyung has real estate, so..." In response, Park Myeong-su posed a suspicious question to Jung Hyung-don, asking, "You didn't do this with your own money, did you? Are you just the face of the place? Did you just lend your face instead of paying with your own money?"
Jung Hyung-don immediately retorted with a serious expression, "I told you, no. I have a 25% stake. That's why I'm working so hard." When Park Myeong-su pressed him again, asking, "Then isn't the person who paid 75% the owner?", Jung Hyung-don explained the specific ownership structure as "50, 25, 25%." The meal was filled with laughter as Jung Hyung-don actively explained himself against the playful interrogation from his colleagues.
The conversation between the three continued into travel plans. Jung Hyung-don suggested camping with his older colleagues, stating he wants to travel to the Kamchatka Peninsula, and they discussed which YouTube channels would feature the trip. Park Myeong-su cut off the colleagues who were deviating into travel talk, telling them, "Just work hard on the tonkatsu." When a suggestion was made to invite one more person, Park Myeong-su mentioned Noh Hong-chul, and they eventually agreed to pursue camping at Mount Fuji.
After parting ways with Park Myeong-su, Jeong Jun-ha moved on to another opening celebration. This time, it was a cafe and fruit shop operated by Kim Seok-jung, the older brother of BTS Jin. Jeong Jun-ha toured the store, tasted watermelon juice and avocado coffee, and actively helped promote the shop by introducing it. Upon hearing that the shop had been open for less than a month, he offered sincere encouragement, saying, "I hope it does well."
As he was about to leave after the visit, Jeong Jun-ha turned back, thinking of his son Roha. After stating, "Roha loves mangoes very much," he purchased a box of mangoes. He then handed over a card to the staff, saying, "Charge 1 million won." His large-scale purchase, not just visiting a friend's shop to say hello but buying a gift for his son, drew attention. However, it has not been specifically confirmed whether the 1 million won mentioned in the video was the actual payment amount or a request for the amount to be charged for the purchase.
Jeong Jun-ha's spending scene drew even more interest due to the recent price controversy surrounding the yogurt ice cream he operates. It is reported that Jeong Jun-ha prepared for three years to bring the yogurt ice cream he tasted in Seattle, United States, to Korea. However, once it was revealed that the price for one cup was 7,500 won, some consumers pointed out that the price was excessively expensive.
Jeong Jun-ha also addressed the issue directly while appearing on MBC's Hangout with Yoo. At the time, Yoo Jae-suk explained on his behalf, "I heard him say that Jeong Jun-ha also finds it frustrating. There are unfair aspects. He said the headquarters determines the price." Jeong Jun-ha expressed his regret regarding the price determination process, saying, "I'll be at the Seattle headquarters when this broadcast airs, so I'll go and talk to them properly."
On the other hand, counterarguments were raised that the domestic price was actually cheaper, as it was revealed that a single cup of the yogurt ice cream is sold locally for 6.95 dollars, which was approximately 9,221 won at the exchange rate at the time. While views remain divided over the price controversy, Jeong Jun-ha has once again become the center of attention as his image of generously purchasing mangoes at BTS Jin's brother's shop was revealed.
