Jun Jin and Ryu Yi Seo share updates on five-month IVF journey

“Will we be able to meet our baby early next year?”

About five months have passed since SHINHWA member Jun Jin and his wife Ryu Yi Seo began the IVF process in anticipation of a second child. Ryu Yi Seo recently shared an update on her ongoing preparations, noting, “I am undergoing IVF.”

On the 3rd, while showing the contents of her refrigerator on the YouTube channel My Love Ryu Yi Seo, Ryu Yi Seo made these remarks while selecting a beverage. While introducing foods she consumes to prepare for the procedure, such as oat drinks and soft tofu, she demonstrated how she is closely managing her health in her daily life.

The couple first revealed specific details of their IVF process in April. During a visit to an OB-GYN, medical staff explained that Ryu's ovarian function is exceptionally good for her age group and that her basic health indicators are within the normal range.

At the time, medical staff explained that if healthy embryos are formed and the subsequent process proceeds smoothly, egg retrieval could be possible around mid-May, the gestational sac could be confirmed about five weeks later, and childbirth could be expected around early next year. Having heard this specific timeline, the couple could not hide their excitement as they imagined a future with their child.

Jun Jin asked if there was a feeling regarding whether the baby would be a son or a daughter. When the medical staff replied, “There is a feeling it might be a daughter,” he laughed, saying, “I trust my intuition.” He continued to express his anticipation for a second child, stating, “Even just imagining it for a moment makes me so happy.”

The process moved forward as planned. About a month later in May, Ryu Yi Seo shared that she had completed egg retrieval and also revealed footage of a trip to Jeju Island with Jun Jin. The couple revealed they are even changing their lifestyle habits for the procedure, noting that they each take more than 10 different nutritional supplements.

As time passes, Ryu continues to share her daily life of preparing for the IVF procedure. With Ryu stating, “I can endure anything for the sake of the baby,” and Jun Jin expressing his joy at the mere thought of their child, attention remains focused on the couple's journey toward welcoming a second child.
