Lee Joon recovers 790,000 won after guessing Choi Mina-su's identity
Actor Lee Joon experienced extreme frustration while mimicking the spending habits of Choi Mina-su, only to undergo a sudden change in attitude after successfully guessing her identity and recovering his money.
Actor Lee Joon successfully recovered 791,530 won on the ENA variety program 'You Buy, I Live' after correctly identifying Choi Mina-su as the person whose spending habits he was mimicking. The mission, broadcast on the 18th, saw Lee struggle with Choi's luxury purchases and dessert-heavy diet before winning a full refund.

Actor Lee Joon expressed intense frustration after being tasked with mimicking the spending patterns of Choi Mina-su, a former participant of 'Single's Inferno, season 5'. Tasked with a mission requiring him to spend over 790,000 won in a single day, Lee was shocked by Choi's continuous purchases of clothing and daily necessities. He also voiced his bewilderment at her unique eating habits, such as consuming cake instead of meals, but the episode concluded with an unexpected twist.
In the fourth episode of the ENA variety program 'You Buy, I Live' broadcast on the 18th, Lee Joon took on the challenge of acting as Choi Mina-su's avatar, replicating her daily expenditures. The format involved the avatar paying for the actual expenses incurred by the other participant to experience their lifestyle. For Lee, who would not normally open his wallet so easily, the mission proved difficult from the start as he had to follow Choi's spending exactly.
Lee's patience began to crumble as consecutive payment notifications arrived. While receiving a manicure, he saw transactions for 65,000 won at a tableware store and 208,600 won at a clothing store. He could not hide his confusion when an additional payment notification for 415,000 won arrived. As the scale of spending exceeded his expectations, Lee questioned, "Why are you being so luxurious?" and eventually reacted strongly, saying, "Are you crazy? You're crazy."
Lee expressed his frustration, noting that he had spent approximately 690,000 won in a single day. He shook his head after paying 415,000 won at a women's clothing store, stating, "This is the first time in my life I've spent money like this." He further complained that while the person he was following (the "main body") seems to have it easy, he found it difficult to understand the spending, noting that while exercise might be slightly inconvenient, it shouldn't cost that much money. Although the mission was meant to experience someone else's spending, the situation was not easy to laugh off for the person making the payments.
The dietary habits also left Lee bewildered. Upon checking a receipt from a dessert cafe, he was surprised to find that Choi Mina-su had eaten only one sandwich and two cakes throughout the day. Lee questioned why she would eat two cakes instead of a proper meal, finding it difficult to understand eating desserts instead of a real meal even after 7:00 PM. He eventually lamented, "This person has a problem," and "Stop buying things," as he struggled to keep up with Choi's lifestyle patterns.
The total amount spent by Choi Mina-su that day was 791,530 won, the highest among the participants. However, Lee Joon had a chance for a final reversal. According to the program rules, if the avatar correctly guesses the identity of the person they are following, they can receive a full refund of the amount spent. Gathering clues from the spending history, Lee successfully identified Choi Mina-su and managed to recover the large sum of money.
Following the refund, Lee's attitude changed noticeably. Having previously vented his dissatisfaction with Choi's spending, he suddenly became favorable, stating, "Mina's image has become very good. I am rooting for her very much." Watching this, Kim Sook remarked, "Money solves everything," which caused laughter in the studio. Lee's sudden shift, appearing to lose all the stress from the day's spending once the refund was issued, was a key comedic highlight of the broadcast.
Hyun Bong-sik also had a demanding day acting as the avatar for Jonathan, following him through intense exercise, eating shows, and shopping worth 380,000 won. However, he also succeeded in guessing the identity and received a full refund of 664,000 won. The sight of participants complaining about the pain of experiencing others' spending habits only to regain their smiles upon guessing the identity added a unique charm to 'You Buy, I Live'. In particular, Choi Mina-su's spending of 790,000 won and Lee Joon's dramatic change in attitude left a strong impression on viewers.
