Lee Sang Soon's radio absence sparks concern over health
Singer-songwriter Lee Sang Soon has been absent from his MBC FM4U radio show for eight days, drawing attention to his recent comments on fatigue.
As singer-songwriter Lee Sang Soon's absence from his radio DJ duties enters its eighth day, listener concern is growing. With his exact health status and return date remaining undisclosed, his past comments regarding his physical condition are being revisited by fans.

On the MBC FM4U program 'A Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon' broadcast on the 5th, fellow musician Thomas Cook stepped in as a special DJ. After showing signs of poor condition during the broadcast on the 26th of last month, Lee was absent from live broadcasts on the 27th and 28th. On the 29th, a pre-recorded episode aired, and he has since been absent from live broadcasts for seven consecutive days from the 30th to the 5th. Including the pre-recorded episode, it has essentially been eight days without a standard live broadcast.
While the long absence continues, a specific return schedule or the exact reason has not been made known. As the production team's official notices remain limited, fans on online communities and SNS are naturally expressing concern for Lee's well-being.
In particular, his remarks from the broadcast on the 29th of last month are drawing renewed attention. While conversing with a guest, Lee mentioned his recent condition, stating, "These days, I feel tired even if I move just a little bit." He added that he has been reducing outings and spending most of his time at home. While it was perceived as a conversation about everyday fatigue at the time, his subsequent absence from the airwaves has caused those remarks to gain renewed interest.
However, it is necessary to be cautious about assuming a specific illness or health issue based solely on his previous complaints of fatigue. Regarding the reason for Lee's absence and his current status, the only officially confirmed information is that he is experiencing "poor condition" and needs rest. Consequently, various speculations circulating online should not be taken as confirmed facts regarding his health.
This absence feels particularly significant due to the unique connection Lee has built with listeners through radio. Having hosted 'A Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon' since November 2024, he has connected with his audience by calmly weaving together music and stories of daily life rather than through provocative hosting. His musical career as a guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer also aligns perfectly with the program's identity.
Lee established his position in the music industry through activities with Roller Coaster since the 1990s and became even more widely known as the husband of Lee Hyo-ri. After marrying Lee in 2013, he has shared his simple daily life on Jeju Island while maintaining a relatively restrained presence in broadcasting. Given his role as a radio DJ meeting listeners at a set time every day, 'A Perfect Day' was a program that fit his public image exceptionally well.
Therefore, this absence is being perceived as more than just a simple host replacement. Most importantly, Lee's recovery and physical condition are more crucial than the timing of his return. At this stage, rather than amplifying unconfirmed rumors, the most prudent approach is to wait for official updates from his agency and the production team.
