YouTube creator Mun-ju reported on YouTube on the 20th that approximately 800,000 protesters, including the Yellow Vests and students, have taken to the streets in France. While most participants are peaceful, she noted that 0.5% of protesters engaged in violent acts, causing damage amounting to hundreds of billions of won.

Amid large-scale protests and violence in France, creator Mun-ju, who lives locally, expressed distress while reporting on the chaotic situation. She explained that while various groups including students, workers, and farmers took to the streets, some violent protesters engaged in looting and arson. Regarding the situation shaking French society, Mun-ju reported that some have even said, "France is collapsing, it is a catastrophe, and it is now over."

In a video titled "The Eiffel Tower remains the same... but protests and looting shake France," uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Parisian 2nd Generation' on the 20th, Mun-ju introduced the recent protest situation in France. Mentioning approximately 800,000 protesters, she noted that "it was chaos a few days ago," explaining that various groups such as high school students, the Yellow Vests, farmers, and firefighters took to the streets. She noted that tension has increased across France as scenes of protests and clashes were broadcast through news outlets.

According to Mun-ju, on the 17th, extreme warning statements were made alongside concerns that France would collapse. She reported that those not participating in the protests were urged to refrain from going out, and some even used threatening expressions. However, it is noted that these remarks do not represent the position of all protest participants.

The demands of the groups participating in the protests also differed. Mun-ju explained that for high school students, difficulties faced during the university admission process and poor facility environments were cited as backgrounds for the protests. The younger generation expressed dissatisfaction with the educational system and living conditions on the streets. The students' protests can be interpreted as a manifestation of anxiety about the future and distrust in the system, moving beyond simple one-time disturbances.

The core demand of the Yellow Vests was the relief of economic burdens. Mun-ju pointed out the issue of fuel prices, stating, "The Yellow Vests protested because they had no money." She explained that in rural areas where living without a car is difficult, vehicles and fuel are essential for commuting and the daily movement of families. The rise in fuel prices was cited as an issue that reveals the difference in living conditions between urban and rural areas, as it leads to an increased cost of living beyond a simple increase in consumer spending.

Mun-ju particularly emphasized that the protests, which were proceeding peacefully, turned into a completely different situation due to some violent acts. She claimed that with the appearance of destroyers called 'casseur' in France, damage increased as restaurants, shops, and city halls were burned, and police and citizens were assaulted. She explained that violence and looting occurred regardless of the original intent of the protests, increasing anxiety among citizens.

She repeatedly emphasized that those involved in violent acts are an extremely small portion of the total protesters. "0.5% of the protesters committed these acts," Mun-ju said, adding, "I wanted to say that not all French people protest violently." She further claimed that the actions of a few caused damage amounting to hundreds of billions of won. While criticizing the violence and destruction occurring at large-scale rallies, she made it clear that these actions should not be generalized as the image of French society as a whole.

Having been born and living in France, Mun-ju expressed complex emotions, saying, "I was born here too, but I am so angry and saddened." She evaluated this situation as a decisive moment for the presidential election scheduled for next May. It is observed that the causes of the protests—such as economic hardship, educational issues, and concerns over public order and safety—could influence future political debates. However, the actual impact on the election remains to be seen by watching the flow of the political situation.

Mun-ju is a creator who operates the YouTube channel 'Parisian 2nd Generation' with approximately 110,000 subscribers. She gained recognition through appearances on programs such as JTBC's 'Talk Pa One 25 O'Clock,' and in this video, she conveyed the protests and social conflicts in France from a local perspective. Her remarks simultaneously revealed concerns regarding the economic and educational dissatisfaction and the violent incidents facing French society.
