Actors Park Se-young and Kwak Jeong-uk will share their life as parents to 14-month-old daughter Kwak Na-el on KBS2’s The Return of Superman, with their appearance scheduled to air on the 21st.

Park Se-young announced the news on the 15th by posting a photo from the program’s preview on her account. “Our Kwak Na-el is appearing on The Return of Superman. Aunts and uncles, please tune in when it airs,” she wrote, expressing excitement about the appearance.

In the preview, Park Se-young introduced herself as “Park Se-young, a first-time mom raising my 14-month-old daughter, Kwak Na-el.” Kwak Jeong-uk described himself as a “first-time dad,” offering a glimpse of the parenting routines the family will share. Seeing the two actors, who left strong impressions in their dramatic roles, raising a child is expected to offer viewers a different kind of appeal.

Their relationship began with KBS2’s School 2013, which aired in 2012. Park Se-young played Song Ha-gyeong, the school’s top student, whose sole focus on studying gave her a cold, haughty demeanor. Kwak Jeong-uk played Oh Jeong-ho, a troubled student whose rough behavior brought him into conflict with classmates.

Although their characters occupied very different worlds, the connection the actors made through the drama developed into a real-life romance. They dated for about 10 years before marrying in February 2022.

Three years after their wedding, the couple announced in January last year that they were expecting a child. They welcomed their daughter, Kwak Na-el, in May of the same year. Their upcoming television appearance brings the story from an on-screen school connection through a long relationship, marriage and parenthood into their everyday family life.

Park Se-young has also continued acting since becoming a mother. She returned to television after about four years as Na Ji-ni, the lead character in MBC’s daily drama Family Resister, which premiered in July last year.

Her appearance on The Return of Superman will offer a look at her daily life caring for her daughter alongside her acting career. Interest is also focused on how viewers will respond to her experience of balancing work and childcare.

Park Se-young made her debut in the 2011 drama When Tomorrow Comes and went on to appear in productions including My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol, Whisper and Money Flower.

Kwak Jeong-uk became known for playing the young Kim Du-han in the 2002 drama Rustic Period. His subsequent credits include The Blade and Petal and Life on Mars. The couple’s upcoming appearance with Kwak Na-el is drawing anticipation for the family story they will share.
