Solbi reveals how seasonal apple gifts led to marriage with Lee Kyu-han
Singer Solbi shared how actor Lee Kyu-han's consistent efforts to understand her and match her pace led to their decision to marry next April.
Singer Solbi shared on KBS Cool FM's 'Gabi's Super Radio' on the 19th that Lee Kyu-han's seasonal apple gifts and class enrollments led to their upcoming April wedding. The couple, who met on the program 'Pursuing Old Encounters' last year, will marry after Lee used the gifts to apologize for not choosing her during the show's final selection.
Singer Solbi has revealed the decisive moments that captured the heart of her fiancé, Lee Kyu-han. After meeting on an entertainment program where Lee failed to choose her in the final selection, he began sending her apples every season and even personally signed up for classes hosted by her. Solbi stated that she felt his sincerity through his efforts to understand her and his willingness to approach her at her own pace, which led to her decision to marry.
During the broadcast of KBS Cool FM's 'Gabi's Super Radio' on the 19th, Solbi and Jeong Hyuk appeared to share various stories. During the show, Solbi drew attention by answering the question "What is marriage to me?" with "my last love," a response reflecting her excitement for the upcoming wedding and her certainty regarding her fiancé.
Solbi also expressed her gratitude to those congratulating her on the marriage. "I am so thankful that so many people are congratulating us," she said, adding, "I am so moved and grateful to be able to have a blessed marriage." She candidly shared her current feelings as she prepares for the wedding amidst the support of those around her.
Solbi is scheduled to marry actor Lee Kyu-han, who is four years her senior, in April next year. The two met through the KBS Joy and KBS2 entertainment program 'Pursuing Old Encounters' last year and drew public interest when they announced their marriage on the 15th. Attention has focused on their love story as the pair met through a broadcast and developed into a real-life couple leading to marriage.
She also shared her thoughts on the timing of the wedding. While Solbi had previously advised people around her to marry as late as possible, she said, "It is right to do everything you want to do first. The current timing for marriage is perfect for me." She explained that because she decided to marry after living her life to the fullest, now is the most appropriate time for her.
In particular, Solbi revealed her wish to announce her marriage without dating rumors. "One of my goals was to go straight to marriage without dating rumors, and thankfully, I was able to achieve marriage all at once," she said. She hoped the dating process would lead to the fruit of marriage rather than being exposed to unnecessary public interest.
Her affection for Lee Kyu-han became even clearer when discussing her decision to marry. "After the recording of 'Pursuing Old Encounters' ended, he kept sending me apples as gifts," Solbi recalled. "He sent apples of different kinds and for different seasons, so when I asked why, he said it was an apology for not choosing me in the final selection." Lee Kyu-han's actions following the broadcast served as a catalyst to reconnect their relationship.
Lee's efforts did not stop at gifts. Solbi revealed that Lee also personally applied for and attended the classes she conducts. "I felt his sincerity in how he tried to understand me and approached me at my own pace," she said, adding, "He is so lovely." She noted that his attitude of getting to know her rather than rushing her heart left a deep impression.
Solbi stated that while she once thought conditions or background would be more important than love as she aged, the fact that she could meet and marry someone she truly loves is a great blessing. Rather than flashy conditions or grand events, she gained certainty from his consistent actions to understand her. As she approaches the marriage she described as her "last love," interest is gathering on how the two grew their connection, which began on an entertainment program, into real-life love.
