Solbi and Lee Kyu-han to marry after discussing marriage on Pursuing Old Connections 3
Solbi and actor Lee Kyu-han have announced plans to marry after growing close on KBS Joy, KBS2 and GTV’s Pursuing Old Connections 3. They discussed marriage on the show, where Lee Kyu-han later declined to choose Solbi in the finale.
Singer and painter Solbi and actor Lee Kyu-han have announced they will marry, bringing renewed attention to conversations about their feelings and the possibility of marriage on the dating reality show Pursuing Old Connections 3. The pair did not become a couple on the program, but later began a serious relationship and agreed to marry.
Solbi’s agency, Jian Castle, said on the 15th that the two had “promised to become husband and wife based on their trust and love for each other.” Their families have already met, and the wedding is scheduled to take place privately in April 2027. They made their relationship public with the marriage announcement, without a separate announcement that they were dating.
The pair reportedly grew close through Pursuing Old Connections 3, a dating reality program that aired last July on KBS Joy, KBS2 and GTV. They showed interest in each other from their first meeting and gradually drew closer on one-on-one dates. Lee Kyu-han said he had been interested in Solbi for a long time.
“You were a woman to me from the beginning,” Lee Kyu-han told Solbi, referring to his having seen her romantically when they appeared together on a variety show eight years earlier. Solbi asked, “Then if we had gone to a company dinner back then, would you have asked for my number?” He replied without hesitation, “Of course I would have.” Their exchange recalled the special connection that developed between them after they became close years later.
Lee Kyu-han was also the one who first raised marriage. When Solbi said she had joined the show because she wanted to date someone, he asked, “If things go well on Pursuing Old Connections 3, would you think about getting married?” Solbi responded positively: “At my age, of course I’m open to marriage.” At the time, they were discussing the possibility of a relationship; in light of their marriage announcement, the conversation showed the seriousness with which they viewed that possibility.
Lee Kyu-han did not hide his feelings for Solbi in front of the other male cast members. “When I’m with Solbi, I feel like I become a really cool man,” he said. He also admitted, “I don’t know yet whether it’s as a person or as a woman, but I really like her,” expressing his feelings and excitement about being with her.
The two did not become the show’s final couple. In the finale, Lee Kyu-han received Solbi’s choice but gave up making a choice himself, so they did not pair up on the program. Their on-screen ending did not determine what happened in real life: the connection that did not come together in front of the cameras developed into a serious relationship after filming, and they have now agreed to marry.
