BIBI Recalls Hardships of Moving to Seoul with Only Two Blankets, Moved by Gifts from Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae

Singer and actress BIBI has revealed the difficult realities of her early life living alone after moving to Seoul, as well as the warm support she received from her agency heads, the legendary hip-hop duo Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae.

In the MBC variety show 'Help! Homes,' which airs at 10 PM on the 30th, BIBI, along with entertainer Joo Woo-jae and former announcer Kim Dae-ho, will visit the homes of people who have settled in Seoul. The three participants, who all started their lives in the capital in different ways, are expected to provide both empathy and laughter as they share their personal experiences.

During the broadcast, BIBI, who hails from Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, recalls her first days in the city, confessing, "I moved to Seoul with nothing but two blankets, toothpaste, a few pieces of clothing, and two pairs of shoes." Recalling her time starting a life alone in an unfamiliar city at a young age, she calmly reminisces about living in an empty house without even basic daily necessities.

The people who discovered BIBI's difficult situation were none other than the heads of her agency, Tiger JK and Yoon Mi-rae. It was revealed that while BIBI was away, the couple visited her home and personally brought in essential furniture, such as a bed and a rug, before quietly leaving. This unexpected gift provided immense strength to BIBI as she was just adjusting to life in Seoul, and it remains a deeply grateful memory that she can never forget, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.

Joo Woo-jae also shares an anecdote from his own first time living alone that offers a glimpse into the era. He noted, "Back when I was using a 2G mobile phone, it wasn't easy to look up maps like it is now," adding, "To avoid getting lost, I used to walk around the neighborhood bit by bit every day to learn the geography," drawing empathy from the other cast members.

The three then visit the home of a long-time Seoul resident of 12 years, located in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu. Although the exterior looks like a semi-basement, the interior reveals a breathtaking view overlooking Haebangchon, leaving everyone in awe.

In particular, while looking out the window, BIBI joked, "I prefer views of buildings or trees rather than water views," before asking, "When are you moving out?" causing the set to burst into laughter. Her honest expression of affection for the house added to her characteristic easygoing charm.

Kim Dae-ho also displays his signature free-spirited nature. It is said that he made the cast burst into laughter by performing a so-called 'barefoot inspection' (imjang), as he immediately took off his socks and walked barefoot upon discovering a dirt path on the terrace floor.

BIBI is an artist who was discovered directly by Yoon Mi-rae on SoundCloud. She later signed an exclusive contract with Feelgood Music and officially debuted in 2019 with the single 'Soap,' eventually gaining massive public popularity when her 2024 release 'Bam Yang Gang' topped the music charts.

Beyond her musical career, she is also expanding her presence as an actress. Having her acting skills recognized with the Best New Actress award in the Film category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards for the movie 'Wild Flower,' BIBI continues to expand her own territory through her active roles as both a singer and an actress.
