Baek Jin Hee reveals concussion and ankle injury during filming
Actress Baek Jin Hee shares stories of sustaining a concussion on the set of 'Missing Nine' and using a wheelchair during 'Jugglers.'
Actress Baek Jin Hee has opened up about harrowing moments on set, including suffering a concussion after hitting her head on a rock and being forced to use a wheelchair due to an ankle injury. Her stories highlight the dangerous environments actors must endure behind the seamless scenes seen on screen.

During a recent appearance on her YouTube channel Jiny Is Back, Baek met with actors Choi Daniel and Kim Gi Nam to share behind-the-scenes stories from their past projects. The three reminisced about their time working on the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation drama 'Missing Nine,' with Kim recalling, "It was not an easy filming set. It was extremely difficult."
For Baek, 'Missing Nine' was particularly physically demanding. "I can't swim. I have a phobia of water, but I took on that challenge," she said, adding, "I kept going into the sea on Jeju Island in the middle of winter." Despite her fear of water and lack of swimming skills, she endured the harsh conditions for the production.
The filming eventually led to a serious accident. Baek confessed, "While filming a certain scene, I fell the wrong way and hit my head on a rock, so I suffered a concussion; all sorts of things happened." The attempt to capture a dramatic scene resulted in an unexpected injury.
The cycle of injuries repeated itself during the filming of KBS 2TV's 'Jugglers,' when she injured her ankle during the very first shoot. "I was heading to the bathroom while waiting, slipped, and my foot twisted," Baek explained. "Filming was suspended for a week."
Even after returning to the set, filming remained difficult. She revealed that she struggled significantly because she could not walk properly, noting that she used a wheelchair to move around. She expressed deep gratitude and apology toward her co-star, Choi Daniel. "Because my movement was restricted, he adjusted everything to match my path, and since I couldn't change clothes quickly, he waited for me. I was in a wheelchair back then, so it took a long time, but he waited for me through it all," she recalled.
She added, "I felt so sorry and grateful not only to the staff but also to him." Her confession highlights the reality of the filming sets where actors must endure numerous variables and risks of injury to complete a single production.
