Kim Kang-woo Reveals Why He Initially Opposed Han Hye Jin and Ki Sung-yong's Marriage
Actor Kim Kang-woo shares a heartfelt story about his brother-in-law Ki Sung-yong and sister-in-law Han Hye Jin, discussing their marriage and professional struggles.
On the 27th, a video titled 'Are we really close?' titled 'Ki Sung-yong and Kim Kang-woo: The true relationship between the two men finally revealed' was uploaded to actor Kim Kang-woo's YouTube channel. Kim Kang-woo traveled to Pohang to meet his youngest brother-in-law, soccer player Ki Sung-yong.
Kim Kang-woo personally watched the match of Ki Sung-yong, who plays for Pohang Steelers. When Ki Sung-yong started the game, he cheered more passionately than anyone else at the stadium. He confessed, 'He played well. I suddenly felt tears welling up. Seeing a family member playing on the ground made me even more nervous and worried about him getting injured.'
After the match, the two had a meal together and engaged in sincere conversation. Ki Sung-yong shared his difficulties, saying, 'After a major injury, managing my body has been very difficult. Now my whole body aches and recovery isn't going well.' He also admitted to aging, saying, 'In the past, I wanted to play the full 90 minutes, but now I find myself letting go of that.'
Kim Kang-woo remarked, 'Whether it's an athlete or an actor, it's the same. I didn't know when I was young, but as I get older, I realize that letting go is also a form of courage.'
Regarding the behind-the-scenes story of Ki Sung-yong and Han Hye Jin's marriage, Kim Kang-woo confessed, 'To be honest, at first, I opposed the marriage of Ki Sung-yong and Han Hye Jin. At the time, I couldn't imagine it. I was worried because both of them have professions where they require a lot of care from one another.' Ki Sung-yong expressed his gratitude to Han Hye Jin, saying, 'In the end, my wife sacrificed a lot.'
Ki Sung-yong added that their marriage was not easy, saying, 'Since my wife is the youngest daughter, I was really nervous when I went to get marriage permission from her mother. Nowadays, couples where the man is younger are common, but back then, it was quite unconventional.'
Kim Kang-woo married Han Hye Jin's eldest sister, Han Mu-young, in 2010. Additionally, Ki Sung-yong married Han Hye Jin in 2013.
