Kim Se-jeong confirms home purchase, denies 3 billion won penthouse rumors

While singer and actress Kim Se-jeong has confirmed her recent home purchase, she clarified that rumors regarding a "3 billion won penthouse purchase" are untrue.

On the 15th, her agency BH Entertainment confirmed the reports of Kim's home purchase, stating, "It is true that Kim Se-jeong purchased a house truly."

However, the agency drew a line regarding reports from certain media outlets claiming she "purchased a 3 billion won penthouse in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul," stating, "This is different from the facts." They added, "As specific purchase amounts or housing-related information pertain to the actress's private life, it is difficult to confirm."

Earlier that day, one media outlet drew attention by reporting that Kim purchased a penthouse worth approximately 3 billion won located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. However, the agency explained that they only acknowledged the fact of the house purchase, while the price and type of housing were incorrect.

The news of Kim's home purchase is garnering even more interest because her difficult upbringing is widely known.

Through various broadcasts, Kim has honestly confessed that she grew up in an economically insufficient environment during her childhood. She recalled her life at the time on a past variety show, saying, "When I first moved up to Seoul, my whole family—my mother, my older brother, and I—lived together in my aunt's 40-square-meter (12-pyeong) house."

Because of this, she has expressed her Wish multiple times since her debut, saying, "If I become successful, the first thing I want to do is gift a house to my mother." Later, she received support from many fans when it was revealed that she had actually provided a house under her mother's name.

The representative expression symbolizing Kim, 'Flower Path,' also began from her sincerity toward her family. She promised her mother on a broadcast, "I will make sure you only walk on a flower path," and this phrase subsequently became a widely used popular catchphrase. Later, Kim released a song titled "Flower Path" to convey her sincerity through music.

Kim gained great love after debuting as a member of the project group I.O.I, finishing in 2nd place on the 2016 Mnet audition program 'Produce 101.' She continued her activities with the group Gugudan and has steadily expanded her career by working as both a singer and an actress.

As an actress, she began her full-scale acting career with the KBS2 drama 'School 2017.' While acknowledging the fact of this home purchase, Kim did not disclose private information such as the specific transaction amount or the size of the house. Accordingly, the rumor of purchasing a 3 billion won penthouse has been clarified as untrue, and the agency requested that the actress's privacy be respected.
