'Brave New World' Lim Ji Yeon: "Playing dual roles wasn't easy, but I hope it stays with you"

On the 19th, the lead actors of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Brave New World'—Lim Ji Yeon (playing Shin Seo Ri/Kang Dan-shim), Heo Nam Jun (playing Cha Se-gye), and Jang Seung Jo (playing Choi Mun Do)—expressed their gratitude to viewers with just one day left before the finale.
In this work, Lim Ji Yeon proved her true value with acting skills that spanned genres, from comedy and melodrama to action. She expressed both her gratitude and regret, saying, "Playing dual roles, switching between a Joseon villainess who traveled to the future overnight and the timid, unknown actress Shin Seo Ri, was not easy, but I am sincerely grateful to the viewers who laughed and cried with me. I hope Seo Ri remains a bold and lovely character in your memories for a long time."
Heo Nam Jun, who has emerged as a new trendsetter for K-romantic comedy male leads through his role as Cha Se-gye, said, "I had a happy time receiving such overwhelming love and support from the viewers. I was so happy that I wished this time would never end. Thank you sincerely for watching 'Brave New World' with interest and enjoyment. I wish you all constant health."
Jang Seung Jo, who left a deep impression by completing a unique villainous character that drove the tension of the drama, showed his affection for the work, stating, "Thank you for waiting for 'Brave New World' every week, for being enthusiastic about the love story between Seo Ri and Se-gye, and for hating Mun Do so much. For me, the process of becoming a 'Brave New World' for all of you was also a 'Brave New World.'"
Starting with a 4.1% viewership rating in episode 1, 'Brave New World' broke its own record by reaching 10.5% in episode 12. According to Netflix Tudum, the series also achieved global success, ranking 2nd in the Netflix 'Global Top 10 Non-English Shows' weekly viewership ranking during its 5th week of broadcast (based on 6/1~6/9).
