Shin Da-eun and Im Seong-bin to undergo major home makeover

Actress Shin Da-eun and her husband, interior designer Im Seong-bin, have decided to undergo a massive home renovation after five years, following two months of family discussions. The decision aims to reconfigure their living space to accommodate their growing son while simultaneously refreshing the couple's lifestyle.

On the 16th, Shin shared a video on her SNS capturing the changes in their home's interior, stating, "After two months of family meetings with Director Im, our home is getting a major refresh. Starting with the kitchen truly."

The video shows the space gradually transforming, including newly introduced chairs. While maintaining the framework of the existing interior, the couple has created a fresh atmosphere by replacing furniture and accessories.

Previously, Shin revealed through YouTube that they decided to extensively renovate the entire house for the first time in five years. This is not a simple remodeling just to change the mood; as their son, Hayden, grows, the time has come to separate his sleeping area, which served as the catalyst for redesigning the family's entire living space.

"We are planning to extensively change our home for the first time in five years," Shin explained. "It has been five years, and Hayden has grown enough that he needs separate sleeping arrangements. While doing that, we are also planning to redecorate our own space."

The couple also plans to replace major furniture throughout the house. They are envisioning changes to the space by selecting new items, including the dining table, sofa, bookshelves, and lighting.

In particular, Shin spoke candidly about the perception that they might change furniture too frequently. "From a viewer's perspective, it might seem like we change furniture very easily," she said. "However, our home serves somewhat as a showroom for a typical household. Since we cannot go into just any home to bring in equipment and film, we have no choice but to change things."

Im, an interior designer, has also contributed to the spatial composition by personally selecting furniture alongside his wife. While comparing sofas, bookshelves, and lighting for their own use, the couple also visited IKEA to personally inspect bookshelves, desks, and lighting for their son's room.

This transformation goes beyond simple home decorating, illustrating how the meaning of a space evolves alongside a family's growth. As a child grows and lifestyle patterns change, even a space that was once perfect begins to demand new functions. The home, which has captured the family's daily life for five years, is now preparing to welcome a new chapter.
