Han Ji-min to Star in Lee Jung-ho's 'Typhoon' as a Wife at the Brink of Divorce

Actress Han Ji-min is set to appear in the film 'Typhoon,' directed by Lee Jung-ho, taking on the role of a wife whose marriage has reached the point of divorce.

'Typhoon' is built around a couple who announce their divorce at a funeral home, only to be swept into an enormous typhoon and forced into an unexpected survival journey together. The film follows two people who believed they understood each other better than anyone, yet had failed to notice the feelings that mattered most. Inside the disaster, they are made to face the true nature of their relationship.

Han Ji-min will play Jae-i, the wife. Jae-i is a clear-headed and highly capable realist, someone who looks for a practical solution before anyone else even in a crisis. Although she can seem cold and prickly on the surface, she has a warmer heart than most. Her marriage has grown distant because of her disappointment in Jin-mo, a husband who looks after other people before his own family.

Koo Kyo-hwan has received an offer to play Jin-mo. The character is spontaneous but affectionate, deeply loyal, and works for a major company. He is considerate and kind toward others, but he misses the emotions and perspective of the person who should matter most: his wife. As he faces the crisis of divorce, he is thrown into the additional crisis of the typhoon, leading him to look back on his relationship with Jae-i.

Han Ji-min has focused largely on dramas since the 2021 film 'Happy New Year.' Her recent work includes 'Our Blues,' 'My Perfect Secretary,' 'More Beautiful Than Heaven,' and 'Efficient Meeting of Unmarried Men and Women.'

Koo Kyo-hwan appeared in the film 'What If We' late last year and has recently emerged as a reliable draw after the back-to-back success of the drama 'Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' and the film 'The Colony.' With the films 'Resurrection Man,' 'Heavy Snow,' and 'Finding the King' awaiting release, he has also recently joined 'The Gardeners' alongside Song Kang-ho, further strengthening his position as a leading actor in Chungmuro, the Korean film scene.

If Koo Kyo-hwan joins the project, 'Typhoon' will mark his first collaboration with Han Ji-min.
