aespa's Karina reveals 'Tyranno' nickname due to short arms

Karina, a member of the girl group aespa, candidly confessed that having short arms relative to her height has been a long-standing physical complex for her.

On the 12th, Karina appeared as a guest alongside fellow member Winter on the JTBC entertainment program 'Chef & My Fridge', where she showcased her witty personality.

During the broadcast, Karina looked at Chef Jeong Ho-young and said, "My arms are a bit short. You might not notice because I always keep my arms folded, but people with short arms can tell immediately," drawing laughter from the cast.

She recalled the time, saying, "I didn't realize it when I was little, but my nickname was 'Tyranno' until middle school. I wondered if it was true, so I measured my arm length against the shortest friend in my class, and my arms were actually shorter. I was 168cm tall, and my friend was in the 140cm range."

Karina revealed that she uses various methods on stage to naturally overcome this complex.

"When I dance, I make a lot of use of my hair. I try to naturally hide my arms and distract the gaze," she explained, adding, "Instead, I tend to use lower body movements more often."
