Former Gugudan So-i marries lawyer after unexpected proposal

Jang So-jin, known professionally as So-i and formerly of the group Gugudan, begins a new chapter in her life by marrying lawyer Yoo Jong-min on the 16th.

On the 16th, So-i expressed her excitement ahead of the wedding and her affection for her groom via her SNS. In particular, she revealed an anecdote about an unexpected proposal she received during a trip to Canada, leaving a sweet message saying, “Let’s truly live well together now.”

The story she shared was more modest than expected. Recalling the moment, So-i said, “During our trip to Canada, I happened to receive the proposal while being completely bare-faced and wearing a tracksuit, having not even washed up.”

Although she is usually quite quick-witted, she noted that she never expected the proposal at the time because she was feeling tired and haggard.

As she had her own romantic ideals regarding proposals, the moment was even more special for So-i. She reminisced, “I always had my own romantic ideals about what kind of proposal I would receive, but to receive one on a day like this... It has truly become one of the memories I will never forget for the rest of my life.”

Ahead of the wedding, So-i also released wedding photos taken in Vancouver. So-i had previously shared the news of her marriage this past June, revealing her deep affection for her fiancé.

She continued, officially announcing the marriage by saying, “I also realized that I become my most natural and comfortable self when we are together. This coming August, we are preparing for a new start under the name of husband and wife.”

So-i debuted as a member of Gugudan in 2016 and was active in the music industry. Since the group's disbandment, she has expanded her career through acting and influencer activities.
