Lee Hi and Dok2 world tour cancelled over unpaid fees

The ambitious global world tour prepared by singers Lee Hi and Dok2 has been completely cancelled just before its scheduled start. The artists' agency claimed that the collapse of the tour was caused by the organizer's failure to fulfill contractual obligations rather than the artists, even mentioning the possibility of legal action.

On the 4th, 808 High Recordings, the agency representing Lee Hi and Dok2, released an official statement regarding the cancellation via SNS.

The agency stated, “On the 2nd, we were notified by the tour organizer, Kino White Touring Korea, of the cancellation of all tour city performances and the commencement of refund procedures for audiences.”

They continued, “This cancellation is not due to the decision or fault of the artists. We extended the payment deadlines several times and requested the fulfillment of contractual obligations to proceed with the performances, but the organizer notified us of the tour cancellation without completing the payments and necessary preparations.”

Originally, Lee Hi and Dok2 were scheduled to embark on their full-scale world tour starting with a performance in Singapore on the 8th.

The two were planning to meet global fans by visiting major cities in Asia and Oceania, including Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Auckland.

This tour was particularly significant as it was the first large-scale project showcasing the direction of the newly launched music label by Lee Hi and Dok2. However, as the entire series of performances fell through just a few days before the opening, fans' disappointment is growing.

Regarding audience refunds, the agency guided, “Please inquire through the vendor where you purchased your tickets,” and added, “We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting for the tour.”

They further indicated that a dispute over responsibility with the organizer is likely to continue, stating, “We plan to proceed with the necessary legal procedures regarding this matter.”

Lee Hi and Dok2 announced a new beginning in March by revealing they co-founded the music label 808 High Recordings. Since then, they have garnered attention both within and outside the entertainment industry as their relationship was also revealed, moving beyond being just musical colleagues.

However, as the world tour that gathered high expectations as their first global move has been halted by an unexpected variable, attention is focused on how the upcoming legal actions and the controversy surrounding responsibility between both parties will be resolved.
