Sechs Kies' Ko Ji-yong reunites with Lee Jae-jin, showcasing lasting friendship
Former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji-yong shares a heartwarming reunion with Lee Jae-jin on SNS, drawing attention to his ongoing health journey.
Ko Ji-yong, a former member of the group Sechs Kies, recently reunited with fellow member Lee Jae-jin, showcasing their enduring friendship. Alongside the joyful reunion, fans are closely watching Ko's current appearance following previous concerns regarding his rapid weight loss and health issues.

On the 24th, Ko posted several photos on his social media (SNS) with the caption, “A Friday where I met Jae-jin hyung alone for the first time in a long while.” He included hashtags such as ‘Sechs Kies’ and ‘Lee Jae-jin,’ highlighting the long-standing bond between the members.
In the released photos, the two are seen sitting side-by-side in a relaxed setting. Their natural conversation over a table of delivery food and their unadorned smiles reflect a relationship built on years of being colleagues and friends, a departure from their glamorous idol days.
Ko's health status, in particular, caught the attention of fans. Having previously sparked public concern with a gaunt appearance that led to health rumors, he appeared to have a more stable expression in these photos, though his slim physique remains noticeable.
Ko has previously opened up about the difficult times he faced due to deteriorating health. He shocked many during a past broadcast by revealing, “My liver enzyme levels rose sharply, so I was hospitalized,” adding, “I was on the verge of liver cirrhosis.”
At the time, it was reported that he experienced extreme weight fluctuations, with his weight dropping to 63kg at a height of 180cm. Because he was known for his intense energy and healthy image on stage, the change in his appearance deeply affected his fanbase.
Following medical advice, Ko focused on improving his lifestyle habits. He reportedly worked hard to restore his health by completely quitting alcohol and strictly managing his diet and daily routines.
In modern society, physical changes in celebrities often trigger public interest in their well-being. Following his rapid weight loss, Ko has shown a consistent commitment to health management. This recent update provides relief to fans while serving as a reminder of the importance of ongoing care.
Ko debuted as a member of Sechs Kies in 1997, becoming a representative idol star of the late 1990s. He later transitioned from group activities to business pursuits. In 2013, he married family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im, and the couple has a son.
Recently, Ko has been reconnecting with the public through personal SNS and live broadcasts. As he continues to maintain his friendship with his Sechs Kies members, fans continue to offer their support for his healthy lifestyle and well-being.
