Heo Yang-im shares heartfelt message for son Seung-jae

Heo Yang-im, a doctor whose divorce from Ko Ji-yong was recently revealed, has shared a heartfelt message expressing her deep affection for her son.

On the 2nd, Heo posted several photos on her SNS along with a message of support for her son, Seung-jae, who is currently staying in New Zealand.

Opening with "Another summer update sent from New Zealand," she wrote, "There are increasingly more moments when a mother cannot run in his place. However, seeing him stand on his own, make his own choices, and eventually take a step forward makes me realize how much he has grown."

She continued to encourage her son's growth, saying, "I hope he grows into a child who tries even when he is afraid, rather than a child who has no fear," adding, "I'll see you soon. I'll pick you up at the airport. You had a great time this weekend, so let's get back to training hard starting tomorrow," conveying her warm maternal love.

The released photos capture Seung-jae attempting a bungee jump in New Zealand. The sight of him gathering the courage to jump from a great height after a moment of hesitation resonated deeply alongside Heo's words.

Heo married Sechs Kies member Ko Ji-yong in 2013, and they have a son, Seung-jae. The family gained significant popularity by sharing their daily lives on the KBS2 variety show "The Return of Superman."

However, the news of their separation was revealed belatedly after Ko personally announced the divorce. On the 29th of last month, Ko stated, "I divorced my wife two years ago," adding, "The reason we did not disclose this until now was that I wanted to protect our son, Seung-jae, so he could fully accept the situation and grow up stably."

He continued, "I will continue to do my best as a father, and although we have parted as a married couple, we are doing well while supporting each other," while requesting that the public refrain from excessive speculation regarding their private lives.

Despite the change in their marital status, both parents remain united in prioritizing Seung-jae's growth above all else. Heo's calm message of support once again demonstrated her deep affection and trust in her son, drawing empathy from many.
