Simon Dominic Recalls Theft of Luxury Watch Worth Hundreds of Millions of Won, Caught During Consignment Sale
Rapper Simon Dominic reveals how a thief who stole his luxury diamond watch was caught after attempting to sell it through a consignment shop.
Rapper Simon Dominic revealed the incident where a thief broke into his home and stole a high-priced luxury watch, as well as the process leading to the perpetrator's arrest. He stated that he significantly strengthened his security awareness following the incident and currently refrains from filming inside his home to protect his privacy.

In a video uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Insaeng84' on the 2nd, Kian84 is seen visiting Simon Dominic's house. During their conversation, Simon Dominic shared his shocking experience, saying, "I never reveal the location of my safe," and confessed, "There was a time when a thief broke into my house."
He explained, "My most expensive full-diamond watch was stolen from my house," adding, "The person who stole that watch had left it for consignment at a specialized watch store I frequently use."
The crime was uncovered through a chance tip-off. Recalling the situation, Simon Dominic said, "An acquaintance who owns the same watch model visited the store and informed me that 'a watch identical to ours has come in.' I went to the store myself to try it on, and the wrist size fit my measurements exactly. I checked if there were signs of the strap being adjusted, and when I heard there were no adjustment parts, I became certain it was my watch."
Upon confirming the theft, he immediately reported it to the police, and the watch store also actively cooperated with the investigation. Simon Dominic revealed, "On Christmas Eve morning, as soon as the store opened, I went there with the police to check the CCTV. Since the perpetrator had even submitted an ID when leaving the watch for consignment, their identity was immediately identified, and they were ultimately arrested on the same day."
Although the stolen item was recovered, he mentioned that he no longer wears that watch. Simon Dominic added, "Because I kept thinking of it as an item that had been stolen, I felt psychologically uneasy about it. In the end, I sold it again."
Hearing the story, Kian84 expressed concern, saying, "If a thief breaks into your house, I think the person would be scarier than the items. What if you encounter them and a major accident occurs?"
In response, Simon Dominic stated that his lifestyle has changed since the incident. He candidly shared his feelings, saying, "Since experiencing that, I almost never film content that reveals the interior of my house. Even if people ask to see expensive items, I do not easily show them. I have become unable to trust people as easily as before."
Furthermore, he explained that the reason he started boxing about two years ago is also related to the incident. "I started thinking about what might have happened if I had directly encountered the perpetrator inside my house that day," he said. "I decided I should at least have the ability to protect myself in an emergency, so I began learning boxing."
This confession has drawn attention as an example of how an individual's daily life, psychology, and security awareness change following a criminal victimization, beyond just the experience of theft. In particular, the process where the perpetrator was swiftly apprehended through identity verification and CCTV while attempting to formally consign the stolen watch is evaluated as a case that once again demonstrates the importance of tracking systems in distribution processes and investigative cooperation.
