I Am SOLO's Yeong-su gets surprise blind date 4 months after breakup
Yeong-su from 'I Am SOLO' Season 29 finds a new connection on the KBS variety show 'Malja Show' just four months after his breakup with Ok-sun.
'I Am SOLO' Season 29's Yeong-su has been given a chance to meet someone new just four months after his breakup with Ok-sun, whom he met on the show. As an impromptu blind date was arranged on a variety program, attention is turning to whether Yeong-su can overcome the pain of his breakup and start dating again.

The KBS variety program 'Malja Show,' which aired on the 17th, featured a 'Crossroads of Life' special. In this episode, a father shared his story of hoping his daughter would start dating, leading to an unexpected meeting with Kim Jeong-ik, the Season 29 Yeong-su from 'I Am SOLO.'
The father stated, "I wish my eldest daughter would date a little," adding, "I watch this program often and applied because it seems like they also arrange blind dates."
When Kim Young-hee asked, "Even if you match your daughter up here, I think the prospective father-in-law would be too scary. If my daughter just dates, will you really not interfere?" the father expressed his intention to actively support his daughter's dating life.
Following this, the daughter confessed that she had not dated for a whopping 10 years.
When Kim Young-hee asked if she was a "born single," the woman explained that she had past dating experience but had not informed her parents. Born in 1997, she also presented specific criteria for her ideal type.
"Since I am 170cm tall, I like someone tall. I would also like them to have some bulk," she said. She noted that an age difference of up to three years, either older or younger, is acceptable.
At that moment, Jung Bum-kyoon pointed out a man in the audience who wanted a blind date.
It was none other than Yeong-su from 'I Am SOLO' Season 29.
Yeong-su introduced himself as "Kim Jeong-ik, who appeared as 'I Am SOLO' Season 29 Yeong-su." Kim Young-hee explained that Yeong-su was a participant who received significant attention during Season 29.
However, Yeong-su corrected his current dating status. "The claim that I have been single for a year since appearing on 'I Am SOLO' is incorrect," he stated, revealing, "It has been about 4 months since I broke up."
During his appearance in Season 29, Yeong-su drew attention by developing a real romantic relationship with Ok-sun after the broadcast, but the couple eventually broke up.
He confessed, "I became a topic of conversation after appearing as a couple on the show, and many people still recognize me. Now, I want to shake off the breakup and start a new relationship."
However, his history on the show has actually become an obstacle to new encounters. Yeong-su expressed his concerns, saying, "I receive inquiries for blind dates, but many times they do not happen because the other person feels burdened by the fact that I appeared on a broadcast."
After hearing the woman's ideal type, Yeong-su seemed to lose some confidence, noting, "I am not very tall."
However, Kim Young-hee did not hesitate and personally led Yeong-su to the woman.
While arranging the meeting, Kim Young-hee emphasized not being overly tied to physical attributes. She said, "If you consider both height and looks, you won't be able to date. If your hearts connect, it's only a matter of time before this person looks like they are 180cm tall."
She continued, "I am not telling you two to date immediately. If you meet and talk, you might just become a very close older brother," advising them to start by simply getting to know each other.
The father also actively welcomed the meeting.
When Kim Young-hee asked the woman if she was willing to talk to him, setting aside the height requirement, she readily replied, "Yes."
Kim Young-hee encouraged the two to talk privately and gave Yeong-su a joking piece of advice: "Think of this unnie as another Ok-sun."
She also emphasized the significance of a new start for him.
"He has experienced the pain of a breakup, but he needs time to sublimate that into another love. I think this is a new crossroads for Yeong-su," Kim said.
Four months after the love that began on 'I Am SOLO' ended, Yeong-su—who once drew public attention for his relationship with a partner met through the show—has gained a new opportunity for a connection on another program.
While it remains to be seen if this meeting will lead to a relationship, the impromptu blind date between a woman with a long dating hiatus and Yeong-su, who is navigating life after a high-profile breakup, aligns perfectly with the program's theme, 'Crossroads of Life.'
