Maeng Seung-ji reveals philtrum reduction surgery done secretly from her mother after 12 years—Who asked?
Comedian Maeng Seung-ji confesses to undergoing philtrum reduction surgery after 5 years of deliberation, sharing her recovery process on SNS.
Comedian Maeng Seung-ji confessed on her SNS on the 11th that she finally underwent philtrum reduction surgery, stating, "I agonized over it for five years before finally doing it."

She explained the background of her long deliberation, saying, "Actually, I have wanted philtrum reduction for a long time, but I kept postponing it because I was most worried about scarring. I tend to be conservative about plastic surgery because I believe natural changes are prettier than obvious procedures."
She further explained her decision-making process: "Since it is a choice that is difficult to reverse once made, I searched extensively for several months. I made a decision after thoroughly comparing the director's experience, the presence of scars, and the naturalness of the results until I was fully convinced."
She released a selfie taken immediately after the surgery while wearing a mask, which revealed the philtrum area where the stitches had not yet been removed.
She provided a moment of laughter by confessing things she didn't necessarily need to say, writing, "This video is my appearance immediately after surgery. I will share the recovery process one by one. I haven't been able to make any appointments due to the swelling. I'm just opening up because I've been receiving so many calls for events. I did it without my mom knowing."
She had previously revealed undergoing rhinoplasty. This marks her second announcement of plastic surgery approximately 12 years later. She debuted as an MBC open recruitment comedian in 2013.
