Comedian Park So Young shares emotional journey to motherhood

Comedian Park So Young has shared her journey from preparing for childbirth to the overwhelming moment she first held her baby in her arms.

On the Channel A show 'Groom Class 2' broadcast on the 4th, Park and her husband, Moon Kyung-chan, showed their full preparations as expectant parents just 10 days before delivery. The couple practiced for actual labor, including a role-play where Park flustered Moon by simulating an emergency where her water broke.

During a gathering with the mothers from both families, cheerful conversations ensued. Park's mother recalled that her daughter had a natural stage presence since she was young and expressed hope that her granddaughter might be a bit calmer. In response, her mother-in-law added to the laughter by saying she hoped the granddaughter would inherit Park's bright personality.

Moon and his mother personally prepared seaweed soup for Park ahead of the birth. Upon tasting the seaweed soup containing abalone—a favorite of Park's—Moon expressed his satisfaction, saying, "It's really delicious."

The couple also shared stories from when the pregnancy was first announced. While her in-laws warmly embraced and congratulated Park, it was revealed that her own family initially took the news as a joke due to Park's famously playful personality.

As the birth approached, the couple continued their parenting practice. Park had Moon learn everything from changing diapers to bathing a newborn. Moon even prepared a handmade 'Grandmother Appointment Certificate' and a cash gift for the mothers of both families. As it was a surprise that even Park was unaware of, the gesture deeply moved the family.

Finally, on the day of delivery, Park endured intense labor pains while waiting to meet her child. Moon stayed by his wife's side, holding her hand to give her strength. Park, who smiled at the thought of meeting her baby even amidst the pain, burst into tears upon hearing the baby's first cry.

Holding the baby in her arms for the first time, Park expressed both the joy of motherhood and a new sense of responsibility, saying, "I'll have to earn a lot of money."

Having shared the excitement of the pregnancy, the preparation process, the support from her family, and finally the birth of a new life, Park has announced her new beginning as a mother.
