RalRal teases new 'Cheonggyeongchae' persona with exaggerated physique
YouTuber RalRal transforms into a satirical Pilates instructor, using exaggerated body pads to debut her latest sub-character, 'Cheonggyeongchae'.
YouTuber RalRal has transformed into a Pilates instructor. While her attire and even her certificate evoke the image of an actual fitness professional, she revealed her identity through a so-called 'pad body'—featuring unrealistically enlarged shoulders and hips—signaling the launch of her new sub-character, 'Cheonggyeongchae'.

On the 15th, RalRal released photos on her social media showing her posing in front of Pilates equipment while holding a certificate. Using her signature exaggerated tone, she captioned the post, “Finally renewed my certificate after 28 years~~ It's all thanks to my members' passion~?? lol Full bookings completed through 2028~~” She added hashtags such as 'GX', 'Tabata', 'Pilates', 'Working out woman', and 'Fit Ajumma'.
In the photos, RalRal wears black workout gear paired with intense orange leggings, striking poses reminiscent of professional instructors. Holding a framed certificate in one hand and staring at the camera with a nearly expressionless face, she creates an atmosphere that, at first glance, does not differ much from promotional photos for actual fitness centers.
However, a closer look reveals the essence of the character. She has exaggerated her body's silhouette by adding shoulder pads and hip pads under her workout clothes. This device, which intentionally disrupts natural body proportions, functions as a tool to satirize the typical fitness industry image of a 'body perfected through exercise' by inflating it to an extreme degree.
She further enhanced the look with short bobbed hair and a headset microphone. By compressing the physical characteristics of an instructor who shouts commands and corrects postures during group exercise classes, she widened the gap between reality and parody by combining an exaggerated physique with an awkwardly serious expression.
In particular, the setting of being “fully booked until 2028” maximizes the character's bluffing. By assuming a situation where bookings are already full, much like a popular instructor, yet expressing it through RalRal's unique twisted spelling and tone, she completes the grammar of a sub-character who is 'plausible yet somehow strange.'
The name 'Cheonggyeongchae' is also seen as an extension of this character construction. RalRal has previously presented sub-character content by taking the speech, behavior, fashion, and expressions of people easily found in real life and expanding them into extreme personas.
Her sub-characters are distinctive in that they do not stop at mere costume changes or name changes. She observes the typical speech patterns and behaviors found in specific occupations or lifestyles and amplifies them excessively to convert them into comedic material. 'Cheonggyeongchae' is a character highly likely to satirize modern fitness culture, which combines exercise, self-management, member management, and obsession with physical appearance.
In fact, RalRal has repeatedly built unique speech and behavioral patterns through sub-characters that evoke real-life figures, such as 'Lee Myeong-hwa' and 'Yul'. In this process, she has created character traits suitable for short-form video content by prioritizing instantly recognizable appearances, speech, and repetitive behavioral patterns over deep character narratives.
This 'Cheonggyeongchae' persona also explains her character through just a few photos. She acts like a professional instructor holding a certificate, but her body is exaggerated with pads, her speech is intentionally childish, and the setting is that she is already fully booked for years. It is a method of taking the elements that constitute a real fitness instructor and twisting their proportions to create laughter.
In particular, the recent social atmosphere, where exercise and self-management have become a lifestyle beyond simple health management, strengthens the satirical nature of the character. Pilates, gym workouts, and Tabata are consumed as means to manage the body while simultaneously building one's self-image, and fitness instructors are expanding beyond simple leaders into an influencer-type occupation through SNS and video platforms.
RalRal exaggerates exactly this point. Rather than debating actual expertise, she completes the character by pushing the 'appearance of looking like an expert' and 'confident attitude' to the extreme. Consequently, even the certificate prop is used as a comedic device to reinforce the character's bluffing rather than as proof of qualification.
Of course, what is important in RalRal's content is not an evaluation of actual occupations. The core of the laughter lies not in the character 'Cheonggyeongchae' referring to a specific instructor in reality or criticizing the entire Pilates industry, but in reconstructing the occupational images familiar to the public into exaggerated characters.
Ultimately, RalRal's strength is clear in this transformation. By taking everyday elements like standard workout gear, Pilates equipment, and a certificate, and layering them with shoulder pads, hip pads, exaggerated speech, and the boastful setting of being 'fully booked,' she has created an entirely different persona.
It is a paradoxical character that possesses an appearance more like a professional instructor than an actual one, yet it is that very exaggeration that triggers the laughter. Whether 'Cheonggyeongchae' remains a one-off persona or becomes another long-running character for RalRal will be determined by her future content.
