Seo Dong Ju reveals friend stole luxury goods during US studies

Broadcaster Seo Dong Ju revealed a betrayal she experienced while studying in the United States. A close friend who frequently visited her home stole her belongings for several years, yet Seo was completely unaware that her clothes were disappearing.

In a video uploaded to her YouTube channel on the 27th, Seo recalled her school days while looking around her mother Seo Jeong Hui's house. "A friend who was in the same dormitory as me in high school stole a huge amount of my things," she said. "But I had no idea the friend was stealing them."

At the time, Seo explained that the friend visited her home often. Because of her easygoing personality, even when a piece of clothing went missing, she would simply think, "I must have put it somewhere," and wouldn't bother looking for it. The issue began just before graduation when her mother visited.

Recalling the situation, Seo said, "My mom came and asked, 'Where are those pants from back then?' or 'Where is that thing you bought a few years ago?' but none of them were there." When Seo Jeong Hui sensed something was wrong and reported to a school teacher that it was impossible for so many things to be missing, the truth was finally revealed.

The full story came to light when the friend's luggage, packed to be sent back to her hometown, was opened. It was filled with Seo's clothes. "I didn't know much about luxury brands back then, but there were Prada pants and many other things. She had stolen all of them," Seo remarked.

The greater shock was that the friend was not just an acquaintance. Seo shared the bitter memory, saying, "She was a close friend who was very kind to me. If my mom hadn't mentioned it, I still wouldn't have known even now." She had been robbed by someone close over a long period without ever suspecting them.

Recalling the incident, Seo Jeong Hui said, "It was so upsetting." Reflecting on her own laid-back nature, Seo said, "Mom is sharp, while I am a laid-back style." Seo Jeong Hui elicited laughter by responding, "That's true. You don't even know when you've lost something."
