Yoon Hoo fails final KATUSA selection

Yoon Hoo, the son of singer Min-soo Yoon, applied for KATUSA but failed to pass the final selection. A familiar face to the public through variety shows during his childhood, Yoon Hoo has drawn continuous interest from fans as he personally shares his military service preparation and results as an adult.

On the 1st, Yoon Hoo revealed his KATUSA application results via SNS. Ahead of the announcement, he expressed his nerves by posting, "30 minutes before the results are out!" However, the result was a "final failure." After confirming the news, Yoon Hoo shared a photo of himself covering his face, expressing his disappointment.

Even the day before, Yoon Hoo did not hide his anticipation, writing, "The announcement is tomorrow. Please give me some of your good energy!" He also sent greetings to the fans who supported him, saying, "I received so many messages. I am replying to each and every one of you; thank you for supporting me together."

KATUSA is a unique form of military service where one serves in the Republic of Korea military while working within the combined defense system with the United States Forces Korea (USFK). Because applicants must possess English proficiency and meet specific qualifications, interest was high regarding what choice Yoon Hoo, who is currently studying abroad, would make.

Yoon Hoo is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina in the United States. Given that he has been focusing on his studies at an overseas university rather than pursuing entertainment activities in Korea, this KATUSA application is seen as part of his process of designing his own life as an adult.
