Comedian Jung Jong-chul reportedly purchased a 4.5 billion won building in Jamwon-dong last year after moving to Seoul. Actress Lee Kye-in shared on a YouTube broadcast that Jung relocated from Ilsan to the Seocho and Bangbae areas following an ultimatum from his wife to move to Gangnam.

The story of comedian Jung Jong-chul moving his residence from Ilsan to Seoul following a strong demand from his wife has been revealed. Amid reports that he once suffered losses from real estate investments, interest has resurfaced regarding his settlement in the Seocho and Bangbae areas after moving to Seoul. He is currently drawing attention as he is known to have purchased a building worth 4.5 billion won in Jamwon-dong, Seoul.

On the 26th, a video titled "Economic Stories Good to Listen to While Lying in Bed, Kim Gura Economic Research Institute EP.121 Full Version" was released on the YouTube channel GreeGura. During the broadcast, actress Lee Kye-in shared a story about how she moved into an apartment in Siksa-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, following a recommendation from Jung Jong-chul.

Lee recalled the time she worked on a live KBS entertainment program with Jung Jong-chul. "You know Okdongja Jung Jong-chul, right? I did a live KBS entertainment program with Jong-chul," she said, explaining that Jung had actively recommended an apartment in Siksa-dong, Ilsan, at the time.

Jung reportedly encouraged Lee to move by highlighting the advantages of the apartment where he resided. "Jong-chul told me, 'Senior, I have a 70-plus pyeong unit in Siksa-dong Xi, and it is amazing,'" Lee recounted. "He said there is an incredible fishing spot to the right of the entrance. He told me to definitely move in because we could go fishing together in the future." For Lee, who enjoys fishing, the proposal was quite tempting.

Listening to the story, Kim Gura commented on Jung's real estate judgment, saying, "Jong-chul is quick to judge. After a year, if he felt it wasn't right, he would just dump it and get out." Attention focused on the fact that Jung, who had encouraged the move to Ilsan, left the area not long after.

In response, Lee stated that his wife's demand was the reason behind Jung leaving Ilsan. "I heard Jong-chul suffered a lot of losses," she said. "But I heard his wife said she would divorce him if they didn't go to Seoul. She told him to at least go somewhere small in Gangnam, so he left." However, this is an anecdote shared by Lee on the broadcast, and Jung and his wife have not directly disclosed the specific details of the situation.

Kim Gura mentioned that Jung subsequently moved to the Seocho and Bangbae areas, noting, "So it worked out well that he moved to Seocho and Bangbae." As the story of his real estate losses in Ilsan coincided with his move to Seoul, interest grew regarding the outcome of that decision.

Jung was reportedly able to purchase a building worth 4.5 billion won located in Jamwon-dong, Seoul, last year. With the disclosure of anecdotes ranging from his losses during the move into and sale of the Ilsan apartment to the story of his relocation to Seoul, his real estate investment history is once again drawing attention. However, it is difficult to conclude that his current asset formation was achieved solely due to the single decision to move to a specific area.
